That's a trolling post, don't get DW unless you have a hatred for money wishes to burn it. If that is the case, just burn it less hassle.

So far I think it's reserved for people who asked vague questions like what watch should I buy type or as an inside joke..

Most do get it, this is probably one of the few times I saw its been taken literally.. But that's also partly due to they having not invested in research of something they want to buy.

the watches you mentioned so far are very instagrammy kind of watches... more to fashion watches with no proper horological background behind them

Timex isn't really loud, or at least I've never noticed it. Their Weekender is pretty small though, smaller than what I expected.

MVMT, Kent Wang, DW and the lots are plainly fashion watches,  if you want those you would do well just go to AliExpress and cop something similar because their movements are likely the same.

Beginners? Anything you fancy. If DW is worth your time, by all means go for it. Cheap auto? Seiko 5s, Orients are solid choices. I even have a Sea Gull though I would not recommend it. But some of their models looks really good.

Seconded on Bambino. Especially now that they have a new movement with the FAC series (Used to be FER). Hackable and can be hand-wound. On top of being automatic as well. Priced slightly higher but the old ones are even cheaper now  if you can find them. 400+ was pre-gst. Probably can still get it under 500 now but not from MY dealers.

I own a FER v1 series. Here's how it looks after a year and a half. Still my favourite to date.


If you like DW types but wanna spend less (or just generally avoiding the plague that is DW), consider Weekender Fairfield I posted few pages ago.

Please consider real watch brands rather than designer brands, but I'm not gonna judge. Seiko, Orient and Tissot that you like that are 1k above, will be worth more than your designer type 500-800 ringgit ones.

I don't think they changed the movement, only case size and watch face. So yes you can still hear the ticking when it is super quiet. Never bothered me once though.

Good analogy on headphones. If you are getting only 1 watch and be done with it, yeah sure, get what you like, who cares if it's designer or watch brands, if it works it works. But trust me the poison has only just started   

Accuracy is a funny thing. Most of my watches are automatic, and as you may have know now, automatics do lose or gain few seconds per day. Some up to 20-40 secs. It never really bothered me because I don't see it a hassle to adjust my watch once every few weeks if needed. It makes me tend to them more which I like doing it. But if you definitely need an accurate one, get a quartz. Citizen eco-save and some seiko/orient quartz or even the fairfield are all good. Usually cheaper too.

Ah ok if ur looking for normal 2 piece leather u can try hirsch at red army watches, or I think there's a custom strap maker here in LYN, tomyam or some Thai food nick, need to ask lucifah
