just to highlight an experience.

bought a pam 372 from a private seller

didn't like the leather strap that came with it.

went to random watch reseller in midvalley to buy an OEM rubber strap for rm399

gladly paid for it and after wearing for 20 seconds, the strap snapped (i think its already disintergrated) and the watch dropped from chest height to the tiled floor

dome kena scratch, watch shop refuse to assume responsibility and quickly blamed it on the supplier "this is not our fault, its the supplier problem"

next day went to panerai boutique and got an original strap for rm570

moral of story... no point save few hundred bucks for OEM if u already paid thousands for a watch.

I can feel your pain, it is very irresponsible for the strap seller to push all the responsibility to the suppler.
Did you manage to get a refund of the crap strap?

You should let the forumer know the shop name and location not to tarnish them but as a caution shop for us to avoid.

Hope your watch perfectly fine after the hit

Manual King Seikos were produced in the 1960s-70s.
Mostly they are using movement 4500A caliber, which is a hi beat movement (36600bph) at 10 hz.

You definitely can see the second hand glide smoother and hear the movement beats like a gatling guns.

Loves the Hamilton intra-matic the most, very classy and slimmer design case that suit the dressy look.
Do you consider vintage? If so can look for vintage omega constellation or vintage Grand Seiko.

But those vintage will be out of my budget isn't it?

Thanks

You might want to consider to lookup at watchlim for vintage omega and carousell for GS. Time to time there will be quite a few omega and GS well under your budget 4k

What's the make and model of this watch???
*
H. Moser. & Cie., model I am not sure. Apparently, they are the extreme opposition to other's luxury watch brand philosophy and gain their name by guerrilla marketing.

A good read to know more about the brand. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thank you. Me too leaning towards JLC. I tried them both, JLC case is thinner compare to Glashutte, but I like the blue hands of Glashutte.  tongue.gif

IMO Glashutte design is much cleaner, will vote to it.

I was looking for something dressier, inconspicuous and one with a power reserve indicator. This watch will probably won't get a second look in the public and easily dismissed. Not many would know of VC  sweat.gif What really sold to me was the invitation to the FiftySix launch party. Tried them on and loved it there and then.

I did try the Overseas multiple times but unfortunately it's a tad big for my slim wrist, just couldn't pull it off even with the rubber strap. Tbh the Overseas is of good value in comparison to the AP.
*
True that VC is so under radar among the holy trinity.
But that's why I am more drawn to VC among the AP and PP.
What's the case size of yours? Overseas is not that big right? 41mm.

Any sifus here mind sharing your experience buying watch online from overseas? Particularly on the customs tax part.

What should I do to ensure my watch doesnt get hold up at customs? And if it does gets hold up, what should I do? How much exactly should I be preparing to put aside for tax if the value of my watch is around RM7,000.00?
*
Just got myself a Steinhart from Watchlounge, Bern few months ago.
They shipped it via Fedex, regards the custom tax I guess it depends on your luck whether the officer wanted to tax on your item or not.

For Fedex they will pay your custom tax for clearance and you can pay them back at the time you collect your watch from them.

I am not so sure about how much they will tax on watches but for my case is around 6% of the declared value.

E.g: RM 7000 x 0.06 = ~RM 420
