LOL laughed when I re-read what i typed. But really, this is a serious question.
Bought an analog watch recently, and on the name of everything holy, I can hear the ticking sound, especially when in quiet room / late at night.
So could it be a manufacturer defect, or is it normal for analog watches to have audible sound as the gear moves the hands?

what watch is that btw? probably the steel case isnt thick enough la. dress watch is it ? the only sound that annoys me alot is the rotor sound from my (ex) orient mako... that thing is loud man..

depends on the movement.
some are very quiet, some are quite irritating and could keep u awake at night if u put it beside ur table.
Yeah, I knew I wasn't the only one with a loud watch!

i don't have many watches but all of them, i can only hear faint ticking sound if i am in a quiet room with the watch sticking to my ear

mind sharing what watch do you have?
Mine isn't one of them more fancier / expensive watch. it is a swatch, to be exact. haha maybe deswai!
but by God, the sound is loud, am planning to resell it, as if i want a watch that loud, imma go with RM5 daiso table alarm clock.
