can anyone, for the love of everything that's holy, tell me what are the three smaller dials for? the dial on the corner left and the one at the bottom are both showing 30 & 60, what exactly are these? say, the time shown there is 15 40 hours. so how is the time related to the dials?

One 30 and 60 dial is for the actual real time seconds.

Another 30 and 60 dial is for timer (chronograph)  seconds.

The 5 and 10 dial is the timer (chronograph)) minute counter.

Looks like this watch chronograph function can only time till 10 minutes

Thanks! too bad it does not have dial for date, and I find the timer dial to be redundant..

how good is your hearing?
you may want to walk into a shop to try to see if you can handle the decibel level

LOL laughed when I re-read what i typed. But really, this is a serious question.
Bought an analog watch recently, and on the name of everything holy, I can hear the ticking sound, especially when in quiet room / late at night.

So could it be a manufacturer defect, or is it normal for analog watches to have audible sound as the gear moves the hands?

depends on the movement.
some are very quiet, some are quite irritating and could keep u awake at night if u put it beside ur table.
*
Yeah, I knew I wasn't the only one with a loud watch!

Anyone into Bell&Ross? I'm eyeing Bell&Ross RS17, Renault F1 inspired watch. Released in 2017, IINM.

Wonder why we do not have dedicated thread for watch brand recommendations, but maybe is because watch is very individual?

Anyways, I am looking for a watch with this features, hope anyone can recommend! smile.gif

Analog
Leather strap
Complications (must) - Date/Day
Complucations (optional) - moonphase
Budget: 1k-2k

Newbie question here. If want to set the time for an automatic (as the time is about 15mins late), do I simply push the second hand further by 15min, or need to unwind it first?

Just push it further.

Ok! So unwinding is done only if the watch 'dies'?

Usually for automatic watches, advised not to change the time during 9pm-3am, or something like that. If need to, have to put it 'outside of the range' what does this mean?

Push to it a later time, and then turn the clock in reverse? Wont this damage the clock?

Is Citizen the only watch company to have the eco-drive features? I am keen to get myself a watch that has this feature, but am looking for other brands than Citizen

By right is yes... but it will depend on brand and model.. if it is hard to get model, u will have to premium no matter there is GST or SST.

I just wonder will there be tax for watch in the future? Reverting to pre-GST era where watch is not subject to tax.
*
Pre-GST = SST = Got Tax on watches la

My watch gave way about a week ago, battery died. Just wondering, as a rule of thumb, how soon should I get the battery replaced before it leaked/corrode the parts?
