Ya, should be the best among the 3.
*
Interesting opinion
Longines with backing from swatch get certain movement only avail to swatch group. Iirc their price control tighter than Oris.

Oris has the iconic big crown. They done a good job marketing.

Longines a few iconic models, the legends diver, heritage collection.

Brand recognition aside I like certain Longines timeless models

Probably you are right about Longines, it's brand recognition is higher among people who appreciate watches, who are not majority in our society.  But for general people who just wear watch for time keeping I believe Oris is the highest among the listed 3 brands.
Btw, Good job marketing bring more brand awareness, right?

A watch with chrono and moonphase it dancing hands will look luxury.

At his budget can get none of those.

If @baobaomojito lives in Singapore only Rolex or pam
Buy a watch yourself not for others. Can’t please everyone

If just design , with my budget I will go for ball. I really love their design and range. But my wife will ask me to get longines and I think Oris is best bang for the buck if same price. That’s why I’m super confuse. I search online example like top 20 watches below 2k usd and none of them recommend ball. @.@ it’s like never exist in any top 20 list... key word is “within my budget” la , please don’t tell me Rolex omega tudor shit..
Now oris= I love aquis ( basic aquis)but slightly higher than my budget, Williams day date is nice also, big crown complication is what I want but is it possible below 6k RM in Malaysia? I seen price 1.3k usd online...
Any Sifu can recommend? I wan metal strap and best with gmt / dual clock. “5-6k RM budget Oris”
*
Oris Aquis is 300m using SW200-1 (mod with red rotor I believe), 43mm us$1850
Longines Hydroconquest is also 300m using 619/888 (619 is ETA 2892 base better than SW200) 41mm retail usd$1275.

value wise to me Longines over Oris.
U can google ETA 2824 vs ETA2892.

GMT... Longines no diver..
Oris does have one CHF2k retail

Lookout these brands you can find eta 2893

"Look luxury" is very subjective.
Generally I would say brand recognition will make a watch "look luxury".
Say you wear a Patek Philippe go party with a bunch of people who do not appreciate watch, while another fella just wear a Rolex Oyster Perpetual in the same party. People there will tend to say he wear an expansive watch but not you.  icon_idea.gif

That is how I perceive "look luxury" for watch la.  smile.gif

Ppl with a PP would care less how ppl think
They not insecure 😟

I agree it’s subjective and depends on social circle
With a gang of rich friends they may noticed it’s a PP.
Wowing then different story

I believe taobaomojito would not be border whether ppl with PP is insecure or not.  tongue.gif
He just want to know among Longines / Ball / Oris which will look more "luxury". I recommend him Oris, is because generally there are more people tend to know this brand among the 3. More people refer to all poor/medium/rich people.
*
no one will care about others insecurity.
issue is ppl wearing is insecure and want to show ppl hey its a lux piece.
if taobaomojito reach the level to get a PP that easy, that insecurity may not exist. sweat.gif

I agree with Everdying, DW gold plated rock it no need to burn 6k tongue.gif

I'm waiting for the 1945 for the wifey, its either between this or the Nomos. I would like the Nomos, but they don't have AD here so can't try thus will have to wait until our next excursion to SG.

I am not sure about China. The reason I feel more people tend to know Oris in Malaysia is because Oris advertisement is everywhere, while longines is kind of rare to see their advertisement.
Do not look down on people ler, who knows taobaomojito is a low profile billionaire.  brows.gif

Yes well traveled ppl would love global recognition.
Locally if one miggle with PRC they may value L over O.
Really depends on social circle.

Did I look down on taobaomojito? which part of my statement insinuate that? He could be like Donald Trump darn rich but insecure with everything. It’s his money and physiology at the end of the day. Chill and enjoy the watch or watches you own

Someone mentioned about the ridiculous long lugs before but boy did I not expect how ridiculous it was.

That's the Tangente right? Honestly looks alright on your wrist. What's you're wrist size?

Once you focus on the lugs though yeah they look long.

It's one of watches I'm thinking of getting but my wrist is small. But the case is pretty small, 35mm which I think could be just nice for me.
*
Case is small but the lack of a big bezel makes up for it
If you are concern with long lugs then get a stowa antea KS or 365

I know about COSC's acceptable range.

I just bought an Oris Aquis Date and which I don't think Oris is certified with COSC.

Just to ask around (any automatic watch owners), what is your current accuracy of watch?

My new Oris Aquis Date is running at +12 secs per day.
*
You read the manual?
COSC will be noted on watch
