Tonight's small g2g with some friends. Quite an interesting line-up of watches, some new and some old. Some surprise turn-outs!

Can anyone identify these 2 vintage Omega pocket watches? Are they repairable/restore-able? Are they worth restoring? If not, I'm just going to clean them up with WD-40 or acetone and put them in a display case.

Thank you so much for the reply. I've googled the movement number and indeed its a 38.5L. Not sure about restoring it though, Omega SC would charge a fortune for such a restoration and I don't think these pocket watches are really worth spending a couple of grand on.

Any movement that has rusted is as good as gone because even after you have restored it, the rust will come back again just as a matter of time. So at best leave it.

You're right, I'm just going to treat it with WD-40 or some acid and use it as a paper weight or display piece haha. Thanks for the reply.

Guys, is this the best time to buy? The above article indicates that timepieces will not be exempted sad.gif

I'm aiming for an Oris Aquis 2018. Watch Shoppe quoted me RM 5.8k for the steel bracelet variant.

No bro. I already have one Tissot, inherited from my father. It has to be an Oris Aquis - been eyeing this for years.

Yeah man. Been thinking day and night about it. Only one month left before the tax free status is gone. Anyone else giving more than 30% discount for Oris??

My current daily driver is Ball Diver Engineer Master 2. However, looking for something new.

Because the previous SST exempted timepieces. Now timepieces are not exempted (not on the list released by Customs Department). Refer to the article below.
