I have been using my laptop for quite sometime and just today the wireless adapter has started to disable itself every now and then. I have tried to scan with Malwarebytes: all clean. I also tried reinstalling the drivers themselves but this seem to make the situation worse: as of now my laptop is always disabled. I have restarted and also used the keyboard shortcuts too. One funny thing is that the wireless works fine when I boot into Ubuntu 15.04

My laptop details are:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Model: Toshiba Satellite L745 PSK0YL-00H004
Mods: just add ram

All help is appreciated! thanks!

Sounds like software problem. Do you have any applications installed that control your laptop's components? Some brands come with pre-installed junk that will turn off your wireless when it detects a cabled connection. Some even disables it to save power.

Try checking on your taskbar for any started applications that control hardware. Also you can check the wireless card's properties in the device manager and see if the checkbox for the option "Allow the computer to urn off this device to save power" is checked. It is under the power management tab of the wireless card in the device manager.

If still work in other OS, I don't think is hardware problem. Most probably is some issue with configuration/driver.

Maybe you can try to uninstall the network adapter in safe mode, after that reboot and then proceeds with driver installation.

Btw, your WiFi adapter is which model?

Well I should post an update before I close thread

Upgraded to Windows 10 with a clean install. Format everything and then problem disappears. After some time wireless card cannot detect anything so I just use an external wireless adapter to solve it! Seems like wireless card just gave up

Thanks guys
