Hi TechnoDude94 - which part of KL or PJ you are staying?
PLEASE share with us - how did u get selected for the Fibre Optic BETA Testing? How much need to pay? How soon will the service be available to all current Maxis wired users?
More details about this please !!!

The FTTH only in KL area? What about other states like Penang and Johor?
*
This results in me being able to download 700 mb of files through uTorrent in 8 mins.

I got selected as I'm a Maxis user and I live in Bangsar.
I don't have to pay anything cause they WANT us to give constructive feedback.
The service may never be available to anybody cause they've gotta compete with Streamyx (which monopolizes the ISP)>

Yes, it's only in Bangsar.

I need Techno to confirm this
1. Is the IP accessible outside ? i.e are you able to be a host or do you get funny internal IP. You can check if torrent ports are opened
2. Have you tried playing any MMORPGs and stuff , if possible post traceroutes to youtube.com, and wow servers. I'll give you a list , I just want to take a look at it
*
Yes, I'm able to host servers in Halo Demo: Mac and Halo Trial: PC.
I'm able to seed torrents no problem.

Added on November 19, 2009, 11:46 pmAlso, my uTorrent shows a "green light" meaning it's able to communicate...

When you say "Maxis Wired BB".
You mean Maxis Fibre Optics (FSBB)?
I started the trial on Saturday, 14th November '09.
It'll end in 3 months time. cry.gif

So at the mean while, get few pc, run 24hr. Download whatever you can. Don't waste a single bit of band.

Exactly what I'm doing.
Even the technician instructed me to do that.
He said that they (Maxis) are testing the load/peak.

Added on November 20, 2009, 11:23 pmJust now, my classmate called me to help him download "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended" for his Mac.
I immediately went to Adobe's website, logged in, and proceeded to download.

This is my download speed (Transfer rate: 6.14 MB/Sec) on the top-left area:

About 2 minutes later, I called him back and told him the download had completed.
When I told him my download speed, I think he stunned co*k... doh.gif

Edit: Re-uploaded and re-sized.

@cloudstrife07:
Sorry for such small size.
I set it at 640 X 480 (Default forum size).
Where's your location? If not mistaken, I posted a list of locations that fibre optics *should* be available in Malaysia from Maxis...
