seriously even the maxis people doesn't even know maxis have fixed line for housing

my speedtest right after installing the maxis broadband:

uncapped bandwidth + no throttling + constant speed = I LOVE MAXIS WIRED BROADBAND.

today i'll terminate my Maxis Wireless and downgrade my Celcom BB to D68 package

cos it sucks, nuff said. i guess they traced my acc to be a heavy downloader, so my average speed is only 7kBps no use complain, their L1 support dunno anything. technical team on the other hand, will surely cover it up and blamed my coverage for it.

and oso, i got another 2 broadband what. no use having so many broadband at the same time. i just need the celcom when travelling as celcom's 3G coverage is wider than maxis.

three broadband:
1. maxis wired
2. maxis wireless
3. celcom bb D98

so i want to terminate my maxis wireless, then left only 2 for me; wired and D98.

never had a streamyx acc

this is why i like maxis wired. hahaha. even last time during 100kBps constant oso i like it. why? BECAUSE WHEN SCREAMYX USERS SCREAMS DURING THE UNDERSEA CABLE DOWN LAST TIME, MAXIS WIRED USERS CAN EASILY ACCESS THE INTERNET..MUAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!

i cant remember, but iianm last year lah. 2007 oso got undersea cable probs. but luckily maxis got backup cable routed down south to SG iianm so we are not that affected compared to screamyx users.

i'm consider to get amax wimax but they not support torrent (that what the complain i heard) always changes of ip etc etc...

For old place, there is no chance maxis can go in. But for new place/Taman, there is a chance. But very much depend on developer and provider. The developer can choose which to use and maxis ve the main line to that site.

Bummer. So, would a Belkin wireless N router be compatible with it? I'm quite clueless when it comes to the question of wireless networks. Hehe.

Thanks for the reply. I happen to be privy to the knowledge that the Belkin modem+router 2 in 1 models are all incompatible with Maxis fixed line solutions, unfortunately. Though as you said, any wireless router should do. And since Belkin is offering a lifetime warranty on their N routers, I think I'll fork out some extra cash and go with that.

zz, the modem can't withstand heat.

after several hours, speed degrades and fluctuates to almost 1/2.

Perhaps a change is warranted, then. I'll put it through some stress tests soon. If it disappoints, then I'll start keeping an eye out for modem+router 2 in 1 models that are compatible with Maxis wired broadband.

That doesn't sound promising. So, I'll have to hope that the Aztech router Maxis provides can rough it out well enough for my needs. That way I will only need to acquire a new router.

P.S. I must have said something that the Maxis people didn't find very flattering. I say this because I haven't been able to access their HSDPA service in the past two days. Extremely frustrating having to rely on the much slower EDGE service.

According to the Maxis tech who installed the internet, the only other modem brand that is compatible with Maxis besides Aztech is Zyxel. Don't know how accurate that statement is though.

P.S. Maxis wired trumps its wireless cousin by a mile. Whats more I save 50 bucks per month for a better connection. Damn contract was preventing me from changing sooner.

The Aztech modem is being stubborn. I have followed the instructions on portforward.com to the letter, and yet I cannot download anything via uTorrent. Frustrating day. Any ideas as tho what the problem may be?

I cant even torrent now. Only the torrents aren't working. I've tried with various files, all to no avail.
