cos it sucks, nuff said. i guess they traced my acc to be a heavy downloader, so my average speed is only 7kBps sweat.gif no use complain, their L1 support dunno anything. technical team on the other hand, will surely cover it up and blamed my coverage for it.

and oso, i got another 2 broadband what. no use having so many broadband at the same time. i just need the celcom when travelling as celcom's 3G coverage is wider than maxis. smile.gif

u mean streamyx or maxis wireless?

"I think the best broadband is maxis wired broadband.

1) No cap limit. DL as many as you like.
2) Give you double speed. You take 1M package, you get double speed. No stupid best effort speed.
3) And not just speed. You get constant speed also.

Which broadband co. can give you this package? "

For old place, there is no chance maxis can go in. But for new place/Taman, there is a chance. But very much depend on developer and provider. The developer can choose which to use and maxis ve the main line to that site.
*
Yea.. like puchong SP Setia Developer..
they choose maxis

Bummer. So, would a Belkin wireless N router be compatible with it? I'm quite clueless when it comes to the question of wireless networks. Hehe.
*
erm.. bro..
this based on my experience..
I got one Belkin modem+router 2in1.. I try to use with maxis wired.. cant connect at all (all the setting are correct)..
I thought my belkin got problem.. I bring over my friend house and try using with streamyx..
no problem at all.. doh.gif
so my advice, use back maxis modem and buy another router should good enough
last time I using that modem, on for 24/7 no problem at all thumbup.gif
btw, any router will do..

Thanks for the reply. I happen to be privy to the knowledge that the Belkin modem+router 2 in 1 models are all incompatible with Maxis fixed line solutions, unfortunately. Though as you said, any wireless router should do. And since Belkin is offering a lifetime warranty on their N routers, I think I'll fork out some extra cash and go with that.
*
yea.. Belkin is a good product for me.. biggrin.gif
btw, last time I had a network card and it burn.. I send it for warranty..
after few day they change network card for me.. rclxms.gif

zz, the modem can't withstand heat.

after several hours, speed degrades and fluctuates to almost 1/2. sweat.gif
*
oh really? it doesn't happen to me..
btw, I like maxis one thing..
direct download.. any time the download will get full speed
unlike streamyx.. some of the time only get full speed doh.gif

Perhaps a change is warranted, then. I'll put it through some stress tests soon. If it disappoints, then I'll start keeping an eye out for modem+router 2 in 1 models that are compatible with Maxis wired broadband.
*
I try on dlink 2in1 also the same..
cant connect at all.. donno why.. doh.gif

That doesn't sound promising. So, I'll have to hope that the Aztech router Maxis provides can rough it out well enough for my needs. That way I will only need to acquire a new router.

P.S. I must have said something that the Maxis people didn't find very flattering. I say this because I haven't been able to access their HSDPA service in the past two days. Extremely frustrating having to rely on the much slower EDGE service.
*
I on the modem for almost 1year.. 24/7..
sometimes I do restart the modem..
btw, for maxis wireless.. I had no problem at all to access HSDPA service..

QUOTE(cloudstrife07 @ Sep 8 2009, 02:54 PM)
yup yup, that is why i liek maxis wired. biggrin.gif
please do so. i'll probably look for alternative wireless modem router to replace that modem too.
*
haiz.. why streamyx cant do like maxis wired doh.gif

QUOTE(LokiD.d.G @ Sep 8 2009, 06:20 PM)
According to the Maxis tech who installed the internet, the only other modem brand that is compatible with Maxis besides Aztech is Zyxel. Don't know how accurate that statement is though.

P.S. Maxis wired trumps its wireless cousin by a mile. Whats more I save 50 bucks per month for a better connection. Damn contract was preventing me from changing sooner.
*
Yup, it's true..
I try one of Zyxel modem.. can connect.. rclxub.gif

The Aztech modem is being stubborn. I have followed the instructions on portforward.com to the letter, and yet I cannot download anything via uTorrent. Frustrating day. Any ideas as tho what the problem may be?
*
last time I try to use portforwarding..
it doesn't work on maxis wired bb.. I donno why..
why u wan port forwarding since u can get full speed torrent?
