guys, it seems like i've been throttled to 150kBps download after i reached 20GB of bandwidth. and 100kBps after 40GB bandwidth. Did any of u experience that?

btw, it's for torrent.

Don't have such problem for me.

But I can't go full speed at the moment for my server. My belkin modem will hang and need to reset when full speed. Got to take back to claim. This belkin modem suck.

I think same model as you. It getting worse as the speed getting reduce in oreder not to hang. I m now set my server to 160-180kbps. even 180kbps will still hang.

I have yet got time to send back for claim.

oh, meaning that my speed deterioration is mostly because of the modem itself eh. hmm.gif

claim back oso no use. been to the belkin thread at network tech support subforum and i guess it's the hardware itself that is subpar.

best bet: sell the modem off and buy a reliable linksys modem. those aztech/tplink/dlink ones tend to hang for LAN (can't access LAN, but internet can) if it's on for more than 1 day.

I m thinking get another brand modem too. The first modem I use is aztech which don't have this problem and running full speed. But short life. Linksys is not compactible with my broadband ISP. Others I don't dare to try. If can't use no way I can return back. Unless the shop say guarantee use.

I will claim the belkin kau kau. Their office is not far from my home. So not much problem for me. Maybe they decide to give a better model to me. tongue.gif

You will automactically get 2mb. The actual 1mb package is 2mb.

thanks ozak & cloudstrife07 =) cant wait to install the maxis wired broadband.at first, i was a bit frustrated bcoz i thought maxis broadband is less better than TMnet, and unifi is not available there. after i read evry comment in this forum, it seems maxis is a way better than streamyx. btw, what is 'cap'?

jokes aside, there's 2 types of cap people normally discuss:
1. speed cap
2. bandwidth cap

1. speed cap
Speed cap means that the maximum download speed (usually, as they never increase the upload speed btw) you've been getting in accordance to your port. Maxis may say your line has 1mbps but if the port is unlocked to 2mbps, most probably you'll be getting 2mbps download. Just like how 1mbps Streamyx users getting 1.5mbps download speed.

2. bandwidth cap
it's your given allocated bandwidth for download/upload. Let's say you're allocated with 40GB bandwidth cap, and you downloaded some stuffs up until 40GB. This means that you've used all your allocated bandwidth already, and the speed of your internet is under the discretion of the ISP. Some may slow down your speed let's say from 6mbps to 1mbps, while some might charge u extra ringgit.

correct me if i'm wrong, guys. smile.gif
