DTEK50, what a name.
The main features will the Dtek50 is loaded with hardening OS and other security features, compared to Idol4, plus I don't think Idol4 will get patches/security updates whenever they release. USD299 is quite attractive, so this phone could be the game changer for Blackberry. Let's see. Priv took less than 2 months to reach our shores after they released in US so I believe we should get this in Sept if not sooner. |

Some quick comparison from GSMARENA.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPho...7&idPhone3=7587 I think I will go for a slashed price priv since they are not so secured anymore compared to DTEK50. |

DTEK50, no matter how odd the name is, for me a good move by BlackBerry. Yes it have a similar form factors and internals of Idol 4s, but the security patches itself is well worth the price point. Having the BlackBerry Android OS with accessible price point is one of Priv's main criticism. Hopefully it DTEK50 resonated well with the masses and enterprise market.

I think generally it receives quite a lot of fair to good review. The only draw back seems like the lacks of fingerprint and comparably small battery capacity, but the security features compensate in contrast.

Anyone purchased from UK unlocked mobiles?
Seems like good deal but I am not sure whether it is compatible with our network/telco here. https://www.unlocked-mobiles.com/sim-free-m...ee-p-87063.html |

Since Ingram had quit distributing BB, Brightstar is the only hope apart from Celcom's offering it too in usual manner.
I would say 1,339 is a fair pricetag in our shore. Let's see how it fares. BTW I feel that the pre-order bundle of powerbank is only for other regions, it's not so 'pre-order' here. Not that if MY distributor put in the powerbank will attract more sales, maybe slightly. |

Looks like BB is ditching it's own OS for good.
Dunno if BB's built quality will be compromised with all these rebadged phones. BB is taking a leaf outta Proton's book Used to love BB's built quality. My Bold 9700 is a tank! |

If the DTEK60 specs are true, will compete with many flagship models especially from China. Don't thk BB's pricing will be as attractive.

QUOTE(neorage_x @ Oct 18 2016, 06:16 AM) USD 535, quite okay. SD 820, 4GB RAM, 2K display, but nothing special anymore with BlackBerry rebranding phone. The only thing that special from BlackBerry now is BB10 and physical keyboard with sensor on it. |

BB10 is more or less dead... A pity for such an awesome OS, tho I've never used a BB10 device.
I still keep my Playbook tho... Still the best tablet in terms of multitasking and user friendly |

Finally got my D50 today!!!!
Dumbass me.... Only when I got the phone I realised that it's on nano SIM! So, can't test the call or reception quality. First impression was this phone is LIGHT! The back was grippy. A refreshing change on those smooth back on all phones out there. Power on took quite a while. Then I was prompted for an update and I duly comply. As it updates, the phone heats up but nothing alarming. I know it's not gonna go KABOOM.... Then, it's set up time. My goodness! So many things to set-up.... I LOVE IT!!! Tried the camera. Quality is passable but really struggle on low light condition. Pix came out dirty. But outdoor shots is decent. Maybe it's me not used to the phone yet, can't seem to figure out how to take a pano shot while holding the phone in landscape mode. Can only take pano shots in portrait mode??? Wierd. Many complained about the loc of the power button. I don't know but dbl tap to turn ON/OFF the screen works great. I only touched the physical button twice... Once for power up, once for power down. No issue for me. I know many reviewers kept saying the D50 has a so-so spec. While I haven't put the phone under intense load ie play games, the phone performed well and smooth. FB, Twitters e-mails all buttery smooth, Didn't set up WhatsApp tho... Now the phone is fully charged but I powered it down, Put it back in the box. Going off for an overseas assignment. Will only get a nano SIM when I'm back. Until then, can't give much more... Oh by the way, the screen is quite good and the dual speakers are unbelievable! Played YouTube while the phone laid flat and the sound is so clear! So far so good.... Onve I really use this phone, then I'll have a better idea on what it can handle/can't handle. |
