LR provide much wide range coverage.. if i not mistaken (need to recheck) AC LR have 3x3 mimo on 2.4Gz compare 2x2 mimo on 2.4Gz in AP Mesh. its good to get AC LR if you plan indoor deployment.

regarding on setting same SSID, i think dats fine.. maybe it works.

Thanks for quick response. I cant remember the term where the device connection is handover from one AP to another AP. Handshake?

Anyway, my concern is let say if i bring my phone from downstair to upstair, the connection will stuck to the downstair AP. How to ensure that the handover from one AP to another AP can be done smoothly? i know if both APs are the same brand, the connection will be seamless. What if it is different brand? hmm.gif maybe in future will add a AC-Lite for upstair...

Not handshake, you mean handoff. Anyway, it won't be stuck to downstairs AP. All the phone is smart enough to connect to the strongest wireless signal.

zero-handoff.... means no disconnection when u roam between 2 APs.. but regarding on 2 different AP [different brand] but same SSID... this one im not really sure..if there is disconnection happen or not. if you want enterprise performance with quite cheap solution.. yes.. ubiquiti is one of them...

Oh yeah, zero-handoff is awesome, the APs do the handoff just like cell towers. The phone dunno what is happening. But UBNT is no longer using that right? Using 802.11 k,r,v now?

There's a white paper on ubnt where they did a comparison of all three: zero-handoff, whatever they're using now and nothing, I mean device decides where to connect. Quite an interesting read. Don't have the link to it unfortunately.

Fast Roaming vs Zero Handoff Roaming this is good read.... It is useful for client devices with delay-sensitive applications, such as, voice and video over Wi-Fi.
