the ISP give u static IP.. thats impressive... normally... once you login pppoe account... the IP will recongnized your login then.. it will be shown on the dashboard for the static ip... even dynamic IP too.. just the different that, everytime router was restarted, the dynamic IP will keep changing but static will not.

For the business package, u can choose for fixed ip. of course need to pay more.

My existing pfsense & previous firewall requires to manually set the ip on top of what usual pppoe setting. I believe same goes to this.

UAP AC is just a wireless device... it just broadcast the ssid (wifi) and provide internet access. for routing, will be done by edge router. so router will do router job, wifi, will do broadcasting job...

it is very easy to setup and it can be tricky as well.. but there is tutorial you can refer to first page.

Yes and no. Yes, you'll need a router such as the Edgerouter to go along with the UAP ACs and no, it doesn't to be an Edgerouter, any router will do. I use Mikrotik routers with UAP ACs.

Thanks for the clarification

Do i use the TM provided router or i need a better router for better speed?

What i understand that is the uap ac just transmit the signal coming from the router itself. Correct me if im wrong, the installation like this

Isp>modem>router>uap ac

Does that mean that i do not have to use the router. My setup right now

Isp fiber box>huawei modem(provide by tm)>innatech router(provide by tm)

If i use uap ac,will my setup look like this?

Isp fiber box>modem>uap ac

Or

Isp fiber box> modem>router>uap ac

So far im interest in uap ac lr for coverage it cover. Do i need a better router/modem or i can just use it as it is?

you can get uap ac only.. no issue.. your case could be isp modem router > uap ac..

i have my setup in this way... ISP(fiber box) from TM, phone line connected to this fiber box > router > uap ac...

Thanks a lot for helping me there.

Just 1 last question, does uap ac lr good for 2 stories house? I read some comment before that the coverage is not good for vertical since i will install it on the 2nd floor
