Which EdgeRouter should I get?

I'm currently on a UniFi 30Mbps link.

I would like to be able to use OpenVPN on the router and have rock-solid stability. As of now my ASUS RT-N14UHP keeps dropping out when I'm torrenting.

Any help would be much appreciated.

dual load balancing on ER lite 

yes.. TM fiber, they cap 50% up  ... edge router not really do proper load balancing even with wizard with ER poe5 in firmware 1.8... the load balancing not work properly. since 1.9 release, i decide to try it again.. now it gives me this result. so i can resell my tplink load balancer..

and pretty weird.. tplink er5120 give me this speed


try it again jz now... even i consult with engineer still unable to fix it..

yeah... with 5.6.22.. USG also surprisingly have features like blockage categories like streaming media, SNS.... now still playing with it... this one gonna be much easier as totally use GUI.

was running on pi earlier but shared resources with homebridge and it was killing it. hence decided to run on docker for synology but other than the nice gui on the cloud key it is basically the same thing, now to test is docker stable    else just get the cloud key as it was built for the controller

Thoughts around ER-X versus USG with US-8 starting point.  Wireless AC will follow later.

How easy or difficult it is to do the initial configuration via the GUI (withour getting into CLI) and ensure a solid firewall.  No port forwading stuff etc just enough to get Unifi up and running.  The other configuration stuff will come after some experiences with it.

will tm unifi be able to work with this setup? or must use Edge Router? The reason i chose USG is because all the other products in the environment is from UniFi line.. and i read in the forums USG is more friendly in terms of the GUI. Guys, I'm planning to buy EdgeRouter X to replace my existing TP-Link C1200. Something like this:



1. The C1200 currently has to be put inside store room bcoz fibre endpoint & my in-wall LAN points are there, reducing Wifi strength downstairs.
2. Will the above setup work?
3. I want to at least be able to view traffic utilisation & connected devices.
4. Initially interested towards Mikrotik HEX router + Dude server, but tuned off by its Windows-95-feel GUI.
5. I read that EdgeRouter can use Ubiquiti's UNMS, which look similar to Unifi Controller software that I'm very impressed with.
6. Can I use UNMS to monitor my network with just EdgeRouter X?
