At the launch day, HK MS offer vista for HKD699 only which is RM350. Even got uncle Bill signature on it tongue.gif
Too big of a price difference, so just forget about it.

Yes, most company just buy OEM.
Normally university are those who bought open license. They have education discount anyway so it won't hurt them much.

I am also vista user and so far so good and I try some online game still ok.
To take advantage of the 64 bit, you can also use xp pro 64.
But if you pro gamer, I suggest you go for dual boot since not all games can run on vista for sure.

How to claim the BenQ warranty? Is it just walk in the service center and say I want to claim warranty? My dvd-rom shok shok 1,sometime can play well the music but sometime got "crack" "crack" sound. yawn.gif
*
That symptom is normally cause by a busted dvd drive. One of my friend just claim the hp warranty base on the same problem, when playing mp3 or audio cd got crack sound. They just change a new drive to him.

If you want to turn it off, you can goto Control Panel->Sound
Under playback tab, double click Realtek Digital Output then it will Open Realtek Digital Output Properties, you just choose Levels tab then mute it.

coolermaster notepal pro do looks really good but it ain't do much on the cooling part.
You can try to take a look either zalman or hiyatek (HY-CF-6157-01).
Zalman can find it in lowyat plaza or this forum but Hiyatek hard to find it. I even try to contact Hiyatek Taiwan and they didn't even reply me. sad.gif

yup .. so now is to save up ... but need to keep track to the technology ..i am still satisfied wit my current lappy .. so i think ok guaa .. i juz played 5hours of CnC 3 on my x1400 ..no heat problems yet ..bravo ..
*
My S73g is quite hot too but so far no sudden shutdown ever occur yet. Is better to pump it up and use it under the warranty period so if your processor melted or any problem then you get a new lappy brows.gif
The only game that I play on mine is just mahjong tongue.gif
Most of the time I use it to write code and photoshop

Just wonder the fan got spin or not or the heat sink got install correctly bo.
*
Yap and need to clean it once in awhile too, just need to remember don't broke the void warranty seal on the fan.
Since still on warranty, don't want to do much modification.

Anyway, is your R55 also release that much heat as well?
