Hi, anyone here using ViewSonic 32" IPS 1440p (VX3209-2K)?
What is the respond time you all set at monitor menu - manual image adjust? Standard, Advanced or Ultra Fast ? For the moment I set it as Advanced as I read somewhere mentioned Ultra Fast is too aggressive and generate side effect (but this is on another model). I actually seems can't detect much differences just I feel like the screen more bright when set others than standard and I need lower down a bit the brightness. By the way, below is my setting, I find it this is the best setting (for myself)

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 5 2017, 11:10 AM) yo! i am using this model also. bought two and sold 1, cause my wife dont like it. ok back to the topic, 100 brightness? Wah. I am ok with the brightness and I put only 70%. No issue I can see the game enemies. Haha. its an awesome monitor with this price but i feel the brightness is not bright enough as most of time i used it for gaming, enemy hide at the dark corner can be hardly seen.(i am comparing it with my predator monitor) even i max the brightness to 100 lol.(currently use nvidia control panel to solve this issue) so far so good.response time i put standard only. |

QUOTE(craxors @ Jul 5 2017, 03:21 PM) games such as? Below is the games I test out, the only having bad tearing is F.E.A.R 2. TimeShift is slightly tearing. The rest is smooth and no issue. i'm not into competitive games... more to adventurous games like tomb rider.. witcher.... not sure this monitor suitable or not.. ![]() This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 6 2017, 01:17 AM |

QUOTE(craxors @ Jul 6 2017, 08:10 AM) I put the monitor near the most end of table and I seat as usual a table length. It is flicker free thus I don't find any tiredness even long usage with proper suite myself brightness and contrast. If use for watching movie I will seat slightly far a bit. |

QUOTE(craxors @ Jul 6 2017, 08:40 AM) You are most welcome. Here my additional impression about the black output. Attached here the photo taken of the monitor when using black background. I find it very constant and very black, off course not as pure black as VA+ panel but it already meet my black requirement. ![]() This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 6 2017, 11:06 AM |

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 6 2017, 11:19 AM) oc the mon to 75hz , no tearing at all(rainbow 6 siege, battlefield1 , watchdog, tomb raider and witcher 3). using gtx1080 to test, max/ultra setting on 2k resolution wont go too high fps. but if ur coming from 144hz panel take more times to get used to it and for me, so far so good. QUOTE(craxors @ Jul 6 2017, 11:33 AM) nope. want to moving on from 1080p 60hz. currently wasting juice using gtx1080... possible to OC to 75hz? will there be noticeable diff compare to 60hz? QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 6 2017, 11:45 AM) yes possible. i would say very minor difference, as i have another 144hz monitor. but better than nothing haha. Some mentioned OC to 75hz will reduce to 8 Bit instead of original 10 Bit color. I didn't try on this monitor as currently my output is Intel HD 530 which I think don't have way to OC like Nvidia where can set custom resolution. I am using laptop which means only GPU part is handle by Geforce 970m. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 6 2017, 12:58 PM |

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 6 2017, 01:30 PM) Some one here mentioned. I dunno as I didn't test.Edit: Notice Intel HD 530 also can do custom resolution but I can't set 75hz, it said exceed available bandwidth. Maybe due to HDMI limitation. Haha! QUOTE(siles1991 @ Jul 8 2017, 02:22 AM) depending on the game there might be an in-game setting for gamma, his problem not brightness but in the dark can't see the enemy. brightness doesnt help with that Game mostly got gamma setting, I mean the monitor itself don't have. Haha!Yalo, probably due to his game gamma setting went wrong as all games I test all no issue and not having cannot see the enemies. angel-girl Probably you shall reset the game gamma if you alter it before, normally is in center of the bar. QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 10 2017, 08:53 AM) might be my monitor issue? can you screenshot ur 100% brightness photo here? mine 100% compared to my xb271hu , vx3209 only has half of the brightness xb271hu had. Here my screenshot. 1st screenshot is 65% brightness and 70% contrast. 2nd screenshot is 100% brightness and 70% contrast. This is mine at 100percent brightness and 50 contrast, manually add 60 brightness in game and 60 in nvidia control panel. [attachmentid=8954721] No additional setting tune at game or display control panel which default at brightness 0% and contrast 50% at Intel HD 530. I am using laptop which means the Nvidia is purely for GPU only. The display output is control by Intel HD 530. The RGB range is Full Range (This is very important to get no wash out output). From your screenshot, IMO you had set it over bright already, the gaming feel all gone. It seems too bright than usual. A lot games got way to tune and you shall set it the object in setting only slightly appear. This is the correct setting. If you can see the object in game setting crazy clear and not near blend to the background then it is over bright than suppose. By the way, your previous monitor is Acer Predator XB271HU, this monitor is 27" QHD with 350 cd/m2 brightness, off course it is far brighter than ViewSonic VX3209-2K which only have 250 cd/m2 brightness. May I know why you change from Acer Predator XB271HU to ViewSonic VX3209-2K. This looks like downgrade from every part.

QUOTE(craxors @ Jul 10 2017, 09:08 AM) This probably the new model for replacing VX3209-2K and it is not out yet, even at USA also coming soon. http://www.viewsonic.com/us/vx3211-2k-mhd.html It looks very similar spec as VS3209-2K except much better wider color gamut at 99% sRGB with integrate speaker. It probably much expensive due to it 99% sRGB tune. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 10 2017, 07:28 PM |

QUOTE(bigbear @ Jul 10 2017, 07:52 PM) Hi guys! I've just got the VX3209 monitor and can't seem to run in at 1440p. Stuck at 1080p with HDMI cable. Using this card seems a bit over push.If I use VGA cable it shows at 2048 x 1440. My Nvidia GeForce GT 430 specs supposedly can support 2560 x 1440, but I'm not sure if it's via HDMI or the DVI port. Also the monitor profile in Win10 in Generic. Cannot seem to find the correct monitor profile online. Try custom resolution and set 50hz see working or not. Then slowly increase. I read somewhere certain older card only work in 59hz. Also if you not using the bundle HDMI cable, try use it. Maybe who knows your existing HDMI did not support as due to version issue. Another is buy a DVI to HDMI converter. Some manage to do this by set the custom resolution to 2560x1440 progressive 59hz and changed the timing to CVT reduced blank. (if your existing HDMI did not work at all). Above is I gather from internet, I never try myself. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 10 2017, 08:32 PM |

QUOTE(bigbear @ Jul 10 2017, 08:53 PM) Thanks! I just checked and it seems that it's either display port or HDMI from monitor to DVI port on the card. I'm using the HDMI cable supplied in the box but can't get the resolution to show up Wished you success. All the best. Will try to get the adapter and see. Thanks again Actually I also didn't check during purchase, lucky my HDMI can support up to 2k 60hz. But overclock no longer work as the maximum is 60hz. After reading so many, DisplayPort shall be the future for the moment. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Jul 10 2017, 08:57 PM |

QUOTE(Ameerzs @ Jul 15 2017, 11:10 AM) Very nice bro ...would get this instead of lg ultrawide 29" After google around, I think GTX 1050 is equalvalent to GTX 960M, if yours is 4GB RAM edition, I think you still can play most the games ok. I not sure as hard to find benchmark on it. But if yours is 2 GB RAM edition then maybe more hardly.Wonder if gtx1050 can get good fps on 2k resolution seems bit hard I am using 6GB RAM edition of GTX 970M, so far can be said all my games still very playable. Off course I am not demand all games must be at 60fps, for me 30fps is playable already, 45 to 50fps is very good and no complain. Below is my average fps (from steam counter) in 1440p in some games I just test on GTX 970m. All games in maximum quality setting with 4x AA or below. In summary, I get frame drop around 10 to 15 fps compare with 1080p.
