1. How many cash back categories can I choose to enjoy for the 10% cash back?
You can select a maximum of two categories, in addition to one default bonus category (at current, the default bonus category is ‘Mobile') offered by the Bank to enjoy the 10% cash back.

2. When can I make my selection of cash back categories? Are there any cost/ fee incurred for the selection?
Selection of cash back categories is available in the card application form. All new enrolments at the point of application will be free of charge and will take effect upon card approval.

3. How do I earn the 10% cash back?
Minimum RM2,000 retail transactions POSTED in a calendar month to "activate" 10% cashback. 10% Cashback only applicable to 2 selected categories + Mobile (by default).

4. Is there any capping on the cash back amount?
The cash back is capped at a maximum of RM100 per month.

5. Can I switch the selected spend categories after enrolment?
Yes, you may switch the cash back categories any time, throughout their card tenure, to suit your lifestyle and to maximize the cash back reward earned. For each switch of cash back category, a one-time maintenance service fee of RM10 will be charged at the point of maintenance and it will be effective on the following calendar month. Bonus category is NOT applicable to switch, except if amended at any time by the Bank.

6. How do I confirm if the switch has been made?
You will receive an SMS blast upon maintenance is conducted. < Eg. RM0.00 HLB - Your HLBB card ending 2525 has been debited with MYR10.60 (comprises of maintenance service fee=RM10, 6% of GST=RM0.60) for account maintenance. The new selected category – TRAVEL will be effective from JAN13>

7. Where do I make the switch?
You may switch categories via:
- Hong Leong Contact Centre at 03-7626 889
- Download the category maintenance form (.PDF)
- Walk-in to any Hong Leong Bank branches

8. Is Supplementary Card' retail transactions accumulated into the total number of swipes to meet requirement of 10 retail swipes per month and are those transactions eligible for 10% cash back also?
Yes, all posted retail transactions on supplementary card will be taken into account as per principal card. However, cash back earned will be credited into the principal Cardholder account only.

9. When will the cash back be credited into Principal Cardholder's account?
The cash back will be calculated at the end of each calendar month and will be credited to the principal Cardholder's account on the 28th of the following month. Cardholder will see this reflected in their statement then.
Eg.
May-2013 transactions will get the 10% rebate on 28-June-2013
June-2013 transactions will get the 10% rebate on 28-July-2013
July-2013 transactions will get the 10% rebate on 28-Aug-2013

10. Are there Reward Points earnings on the Wise Credit Card?
There are no reward points for the Wise Credit Card.

11. Does the Wise Credit Card offer automatic insurance plans?
The Wise Credit Card does not offer free insurance plans.

12. Do I enjoy any cash back on other spend outside of enrolled cash back categories?
No, you are eligible for the 10% cash back on retail transactions based on your selected cash back category.

13. How will I know which merchants are eligible for cash back in a particular category?
An extensive range of merchants who are eligible for cash back are listed here and it will be updated periodically. Do note that cash back will be awarded based on merchant's corresponding Merchant Category Code (MCC) being assigned on each categories. The assignment of merchant category for each merchant is subject to classification by respective acquiring banks.

14. Do I earn cash back for overseas transactions in my selected cash back categories?
Yes, as long as the transactions are for merchants whose MCC corresponds with Cardholder's enrolled cash back categories. Eg. You spend USD100 in a restaurant in Los Angeles, and one of the cash back categories is Dining. Hence, you'll get 10% cash back in that category in local currency after conversion at prevailing exchange rate minus any administrative fees.

15. Which retail transactions are eligible for the minimum 10 swipes?
Eligible retail transactions include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, insurance premiums, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (one time principal amount only) and Easy Payment Installment Plan (one time principal amount only); EXCLUDING, cash advance, balance transfer, Cash-on-Call, Call-for- Cash, Flexi-Payment Plan, fund transfer, fees and charges imposed by the Bank.

16. Can I apply for Wise card if I am currently holding another Hong Leong Bank credit card?
Yes, you may.

17. Are the retail transactions in a calendar month are counted based on posting date or transaction date?
Retail transactions in a calendar month are counted based on transaction posting date. Cash-Back is awarded based on the total posted Ringgit amount of eligible retail purchases charged to the Wise Card.

18. Are both Aeon Big and Aeon's supermarket are classified as Groceries Category to enjoy 10% cash back?
For Aeon, only Aeon Big is classified as Groceries Category to enjoy 10% cash back. All other supermarkets in Aeon's outlets are NOT classified as Groceries Category to eligible for cash back. The assignment of merchant category for each merchant is subject to classification by the respective acquiring banks.

19. If I were enrolled for Petrol category, can I enjoy the petrol cash back at any petrol stations? And, are both card transaction at petrol pump/ automated fuel dispenser and cashier counter eligible for petrol cash back?
Yes, you may enjoy petrol cash back for card transaction at automated fuel dispensers, applicable to any petrol stations. But, card transaction at petrol station's cashier counter will not be eligible for petrol cash back as the swipes at counter may include miscellaneous purchases, eg. food, drinks, etc.

Note The cash back will be calculated at the end of each calendar month. The cumulated cash back shall be credited monthly to the Principal Cardholder's account on the following calendar month and subject to maximum cash back of RM100 per month. 10% cash back is subject to a minimum of 10 retail transactions monthly (with a minimum of RM50 per transaction) in anything during the calendar month. For each switch of cash back category, a one-time maintenance service fee of RM10 will be charged at the point of maintenance. New category enrolment will be effective on the following calendar month. The Bonus Category of Mobile is not applicable to change.

Just completed today my last swipe for this month RM100 CB with TNB payment via UOBpayonline.

By the way, managed to add my account into new myTNB website today.
From there you will know your new 12digit account number.

mytnb portal is just login portal. it doesnt know what tnb accounts you're having.

from inside, you need to add tnb account before viewing the details.

Yes.
Click on "Manage Account" and then "Add Account". Then, enter your IC, Account number (old 14digit no) and mother name. Done!

You can but it may not entitle for Utilities category.
It is using the same gateway as MyTNB app which doesn't entitle for cash back under utilities category.

Dont expect too much from GICs like TNB n TM, some of the biggest corps in KLSE. I think TM's portal is even worst esp for a ICT corp.

I have made my payments to TNB through UOB payonline Portal on 21st Jul, but up until today i have yet to get any confirmation emails. I am not sure whether i should pay another round. cos it will definitely duplicate payments if the first tranch payments suddenly go through again.

if you payment consists of three transactions and all transactions went through well, then the transaction is there..
cause when uobpayonline can pay tnb on 21st, my first payment got 3x transactions, but sadly only 2x transactions went through, end up that payment not recorded...

then i made separate payment again for the same tnb bill...2 days i got the email...

May I know for the minimum 10x swipe, it is based on posting date or transaction date?

For example, I refill petrol using the Wise card on 31 July and posting date on 1 August. That transaction consider as July swipe or August swipe?

Called yesterday, they said I fail to pay because Tnb changed to new system and we will have new 12 digit account no. All of our payments got to be done with new account no instead.

Then I tried to pay with the new number, but fail. It stated in uob pay online platform that it is invalid ACC number. Faint....

I did it yesterday without any problem. Got the email confirmatio this morning.

I already paid on 21st using old account and posted on HL Connect on 22nd.

Damm, today I miss out 2 terminal transaction for WISE card due to card not valid. Luckily I have UOB one card to get CB for petrol and DIGI.
Just now only I received new WISE card with pay wave, why they simply block the old card usage if customer still not received/activate the new card...

That means the card was sent out long time ago because once the new card is sent out, you will have 90 days before it is deactivated...

Or is it really the card being blocked or something wrong with the terminal? Have you checked with CS?

I have try at 2 different petrol station and 1x Digi store, I didn't call the CS since I just received the new card in the mail box this afternoon.

No need. They will send by batches. I got my MACH long time ago. Not urgent for me though. In fact, I'm very lazy to change card. Have to check out the delivery address, activate PIN la, this and that.

generally, HLB's posting is +1 day after transaction taken place, so swiping on 31st July will flow to Aug's cb pool, e.g. end-month petrol pump if you're running low on petrol.

or pay any amount that you think that doesn't matter if you miss the cash back.

Yes, most of us happily paying for it since we maximize RM 100 every month.
I have been maximizing for RM 100 with RM 985 instead of RM 1k. So technically, one year, I will save RM 15x12 = RM 180 more than enough to pay for the AF+GST.

I would continue to pay the AF if they card is still offering the same CB. Cancelling and re-applying sounds a bit risky. Win some, Lose some.

Depends on your spending pattern. I always max out every month, so annual fee is very worth it. It is one of my highest yielding cards even after deducting annual fee, the first being Public Bank VS (after taking into account promo cashback).

However, if you're underutilising the card, depending on your chosen categories, you can adopt a different strategy. For example, if you chose groceries and utilities, you could buy vouchers and overpay utility bills in the last few months, then cancel and use the overpayments during the cooling off period.

i change my category on 28th april from Grocery to Travel and HLB charge me travel maintanence fee on 30th april statad EFF June and i double confirm with CSO that my travel category will start effective in June only.

but i found out that my May transaction for Grocery under Sam Groceria is not entitle for CB. So i called HLB 4 times. First 3 time CSO couldnt give me an answer right away and promise to call back within 3 working days but all failed. the 4th one answer my question directly and said May i only entitle for Petrol and Mobile category where 1 of my category will be inactive until June only.

is this true? anyone of you encounter this situation before? shall i email HLB? or call again?

When i read this, i feel funny.. u use RM985 to get 100 rebate and the offset RM15 consider saving??
it just make ur cash back become 10.438413361169% per month instead of 10%..
effectively 8.717428087986% rebate (after annual fee) instead of 8.58666666% if you use RM1000 a month..

I dont see where u save the RM180 by doing the RM985 method.. lol

OK, I get you but to me the additional cash back's effectiveness is a saving for me because I don't need to spend additional RM 15 every month for the same cash back I will be getting.

Instead of spending RM 12000 per year to get RM 1200 cash back. I spend RM 11820 from my pocket per year to get RM 1200 cash back. That's already a difference of RM 180 there. I was saying a saving from my pocket, just as simple as that lo.

Sorry sis, for this I have to say No. U just got a better rate of CB. Normally rm985 spends will give rm98.50 CB, but becos of your effort u get rm100 CB, an Untung of rm1.50.

I have just received my new TNB bill come with 12 digits, probably try for 12 digits through UOBPAYONLINE next month, otherwise, 14 digits then

unless uobpayonline explicitly mention to use the new 12-digit account number, i'd say still pay according to the old 14-digit account number.

p/s: Maybank already informed customers to begin using 12-digit for bill payments in M2U. grace period until 19 Oct 2016.


although tnb itself is currently accepting both 14-digit and 12-digit account numbers, for the time being, uobpayonline system need to be updated too.

one way or another, sooner or later, all connected systems (e.g. payment gateways such as uobpayonline or even ePay) will need to be updated.

I will probably add additional two more lines for new account under my "Billing List", just in case the system still hasn't supported 12-digit. I have tried myself yet. Will do it on 1st August.

Thanks to Sam's Groceria in my office area, I can be disciplined enough to get RM 985.
