Read the T&C a few times.

Correct me if I'm wrong but does it mean online transactions (obviously without P&P) will not be eligible for this promo cb.

In the SMS to be sent for registration, it appears that we can choose various code, such as P1 (HLB Website), P3 (SMS Blast), and so on.

What is the purpose of such codes?

In my opinion, HLB wants to know how we are aware of the contest, either by website, e-mail and so on.

I am not sure about this, but is it possible that HLB wants to allocate the 200 monthly winners, based on source of the promotion?

Example:

P1, HLB Website: 10 Credit Card Winners, and 10 Debit Card Winners, per month.

P2, HLB Facebook: 10 Credit Card Winners, and 10 Debit Card Winners, per month.

,

,

,

P10, Social Influencers’ Post: 10 Credit Card Winners, and 10 Debit Card Winners, per month.

The terms and conditions are vague about this allocation.  confused.gif

Eh the new T&C for HL Wise...it requires 2k retail spending. But does any spending falls into retail? Like if I go buy furniture at some furniture shop, go eat food at some restaurant and etc - does it fall under retail?

Some of us WISE cardholders managed to get annual fee waiver for one year, last year.

If HLB reinstated the policy of no annual fee waiver this year, many of the remaining WISE cardholders, me included, will cancel the card.

Spend RM 1 to RM 1999.99: Gain no cashback.

Spend RM 2000.01 and above: Gain no more cashback, other than the original RM 100.00 (assuming that at least RM 1000 is spent in three eligible categories).

It is such a extremely narrow window of spending to gain RM 100 of cashback, which is RM 2000.00 of spending.
*
HLB is living in their own world. It's true they maintain the RM100 cashback and also it's true it's the highest cb in the market but the spending power of many ppl are getting less so not many people can hit 2k every month. If they fail to acknowledge that and insist on charging the AF, then many will cancel the card again.

I used hong leong connect instead.

Messaged customer service via HL connect on fee waiver and got this response:
With regards to your query, we regret to inform that we unable to waive Wise card Annual fee.

We seek your kind understanding that there will be annual fee imposed annually. With the cash back benefit offered in our WISE card, cardholders enjoy up to RM100 rebate per month when spending conditions are met, the total cash back may come up to RM1,200-00 per annum. We would recommend to our WISE cardholders to consider this benefit against the annual fees amount imposed which in the end is relatively lesser than the cash back earned.

*
told you all. Hlb is very proud to be the highest cash back giver and will flaunt this whenever people ask for waiver.

delusional. i will most likely cancel my hlb come the af.

Since no one can answer this, can I try and pay small amount and then call CS to identify the category?

surprisingly, STARBUCKS-MID VALLEY KUALA LUMPUR MYS is categorized as DINING

I can confirm that different bank will categorise it differently.

Maybank is most likely showing Dining. Wise shows something else.

If my expiry is May, when should I:

1. Stop spending?
2. Call HLB for cancellation?

technically just like any other bank. better cancel the card before they charge the AF.
