15.
Which retail transactions are eligible for the minimum RM2,000 spend?

Eligible retail transactions include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, insurance premiums, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (one time principal amount only) and Easy Payment Installment Plan (one time principal amount only); EXCLUDING, cash advance, balance transfer, Cash-on-Call, Call-for- Cash, Flexi-Payment Plan, fund transfer, fees and charges imposed by the Bank.
*
Which covers almost everything, except those "BANK" type transactions.

As I mentioned a few posts above, that is the same message that various HLB CS confidently say on the phone. Government is included.

any transactions triggered by bank, not eligible.

any transactions triggered by users (e.g. swipe/use) for purchases (aka retail), eligible

Very nice summary rclxms.gif

Best explanation, and I hope people pay attention to it!

I highlighted that day. Not sure if it's for those government fee. Need to clarify.
*
When I called HLB CS (at least 3 different CS, at different times, ever since the Wise terms were revised), they kept telling me that LHDN, DBKL and Pos Online etc still fall within the definition of "retail".

Perhaps someone else can also call to confirm my understanding? Better to have verification from different sources, just in case people miss out the whole month's cashback if certain transactions are excluded from the RM2,000 threshold.

Next month is my last month of WISE, and I will be using RM1,000 solely for POS Online and RM1,000 for qualifying categories.

Yes me too. Now all the way using PB Visa Signature, 6% cash rebate without annual fee, but no cash rebate for petrol.
*
Me too. JUST did my last ever WISE transaction. RM1,000 TNB bill. Was so happy that I didn't have to swipe RM50 x 10 this time.

hi, just wondering if places like McDonalds or Starbucks etc qualifies as dining for Wise category?

previously need RM50, now these places RM10 also can swipe de, just wondering if they can get cashback
*
Those fast food places have ALWAYS qualified as dining.

Under the previous TNC, you needed RM50 x 10 to trigger the cashback, but once triggered, any expenditure (even RM0.10) within the qualifying categories would qualify for 10%.

Under the new TNC, you need RM2,000 to trigger the cashback. Any qualifying expenditure within the RM2,000 would then get the 10%.

Awesome! rclxms.gif

Used my RM1,000 non-qualifying spend to pay AEON CC using Pos Online, so your confirmation is definitely a big relief. Thanks for sharing! smile.gif

Payonline or Posonline ? Is it same MCC as
JomPAY/ government transactions like MYEQ and PAYBILLSMALAYSIA.COM (MCC 9399) ?
*
Sorry, Pos Online.

MCC is:
9402 Postal Services–Government Only

I know that HLB counts this as Government transaction as I received 0 cashback when I used my HLB Fortune to pay, and immediately called HLB to query why.

Sorry for confusion! Was too excited and typo. Should be Pos Online.

Have to bear the 2.12% charge, but at least can help to hit 2k to trigger 10% Cashback.

I read it somewhere on this thread that it can be transferred to other banks' CASA too.
*
Last month I didn't have a HLB bank account but had a large credit from BT excess payment.

I called CS to transfer it to my MBB CASA. Was done easily via phone, no charges and took less than a week.

If I use this card to pay rm500 for Tnb, rm 150( for celcom and maxis ) and for groceries in aeon/tesco which comes up to rm350, I will be eligible for the rm100/month? What is the meaning of rm50 swipes at least ten times ? So if I pay online one time for Tnb which amounts to rm500, does it mean it's rm50 x 10 swipes or do I have to key in payment of rm50 x 10?
*
New Terms and conditions - check their website.

In short, no you will not get any cash back as you haven't spent 2000.

There is no more 10 swipe requirement.

A little difficult with this card I feel. Speaking based on own expenditure. Will definitely differ with others. For me achieving 2k minimum just for the 100 cash back is not guaranteed every month.
*
Yeh, and the problem is that you can be in a position where you get nothing if you accidentally miss one transaction or miscalculated.

I spent RM 2000.63 this month and kept checking in Excel that everything is captured correctly.

It is still an excellent card for people who know for sure that RM2k is achievable.

Mine has central booking too, but I can override if I show that my price is less than the travel agents quote. Quite a sensible policy.

When you bought for quite some time, you'll notice the price pattern and when it's very cheap. Beats any credit card cb. Besides price is going up every year. It's year end, the timing is just right. Just buy more now because there won't be any discount during cny period.
*
Yes, as a parent you will know the price patterns like the back of your hand. The moment I see a good price, I'll message all my friends and everyone will buy in bulk. So I see where you're coming from. If you got a good discount, plus can benefit from the cashback, then it's really worth it.

But shampoo?? Lol smile.gif.

Swipe on transactions that are normally not rewarding good enough such as insurance, car service, electronic appliances shop or even ladies boutique!
*
Sorry I'm very slow and blur (lol.. maybe it's because it's late) but I was just wondering what you meant when you said can use your wife's company terminal to swipe 1k.

I understand the concept of Wise and spending 1k on those falling outside the cashback categories, but I don't really know what you meant when you referred to using company terminal.

So even swipe another rm1k on govt transaction for wise card to meet up the min rm2000 monthly retail purchase also not included? Doesn't seem to notice anywhere in their t&c.
Please note the difference:

1. Govt and Jompay not eligible for CASHBACK

2. However, they are not excluded from the eligible "retail" spending to meet the WISE RM2k requirements.

i found a HLB fortune card, is this a good card to convert from Wise?
*
There's a thread about it here:

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2161445

Still got 2000 spend threshold, and cashback is only 1%.

Note that government and Jom pay are disregarded in calculating cashback (does not count towards the RM2000).

please call cs and demand them to open an investigation

prefer you to speak to more than 2 CS to make sure
*
I suggest you also email them so you have something in writing. If you want to call first to get a fast answer, follow up with email and confirm the CS name, set out what was said, and ask them to confirm.

When it comes to things like waivers, important to make sure it is really documented so they can't dispute later.
