they did not cheat or coerce you when you signed up for their plan few months ago. it was based on willing buyer willing seller basis.

circumstance has changed since then with other telco throwing prices , Digi has to respond accordingly.

I don't see any fraud or malpractice , it's dynamic business environment.

it is not limited to telco. even supermarket gives fantastic offers from time to time. can we cry foul at that scenario too?

there are remedies
1. terminate the current contract and pay a penalty fee
2. write in to Digi to ask them to upgrade your line as a courtesy to you, not an obligation.
3. remains in prepaid line forever in future / or direct purchase your phones with cash instead of some easy payment or telco subsidies.

welcome to the real world where contracts have to be honored

It's not the matter of contract le bro.... it's business ethics and care for loyal customers or existing customers...
They are not wrong... but I can't say they are not a DOUCHE or ASSHOLE about it....
You cannot compare subscription market to physical goods based market..... In subscription market, buyers don't come and go.... and the theory is to satisfy the customer cause it is 5x harder to get new customers than to retain old ones... from my experience in overseas... if customer's request is not unreasonable.. they will go way out to comply...

I am not asking them to give me 15GB package to match U-mobile also.... just to give me a reasonable quota for a reasonable price... is that so hard to do?? they give me their RM98 plan one also I happy liao... eventhough I am still paying more... at least I know they care... but if No changes... walao REALLY DOUBLE for NOTHING

Singapore telcos also same bro. my friend stuck with 2 years contract with his 10mbps few years ago when newer customers get 100mbps for same price. western countries also like that.

anyway try writing in to them. they may just upgrade you. good luck

Agreed.  Only stupid people would buy phones priced at launching and forgo such plans.

actually, outright purchase might actually be cheaper in medium term for low usage user like me

Its was never a case of getting out of the contract. Just wanted to change the package. Btw, do you know that companies lines are all tied up to 2 years contract whether you like it or not? Get your facts right first.  shakehead.gif

A contract is a contract - get this fact right , and you will find all your arguments are self defeating.

changing package , upgrade plan etc - is not part of the contract, so whatever your sentiments are - they are irrelevant, just saying bro.

Oh yea.. just so you know..

with all the HONOUR talks... and how we are bound to contract...

Gues what.... Digi allows you to modify your contract as long as they are the one benefiting it... they allow you to midway change plan as long as you are paying more or as in upgrading your plan...

Bottomline.. whatever you do.. as long as they are in the upper hand, they are fine with it...
They are flexible when they get more $$ ... but not flexible even if they KNOW their old customers getting screwed..
*
again - there is no coercion or force if a customer decides to upgrade halfway. he enters it willingly , and the telco offers it willingly. again it's willing buyer seller.

the onus is on US as consumers to give it due diligence BEFORE entering into a contract, not to CRY after that. I'm not defending Digi , it took me 6 months of testing and comparison of prices before signing a 24 months contrast with them. i checked the coverage at my work place and home and testing the speed. I also researched on the forum to see customers experience and complaints on all the telco.

hmm although I do have theory why you signed up the plan without much research. lol

Damn.. I am tired of repeating myself..
Like I said.. I am not comparing my plan with another non device plan...I am comparing APPLE TO APPLE..
My RM108 postpaid is a device plan... the same as RM68 device plan currently offered with 6GB while mine is 5GB...
I signed the contract... I did not say they are in breach of contract... but their business ethics is SHIT.. it's a fact when a customer signed with you earlier but you decided to screw him and not giving him what he actually deserve..

I don't think they have any intention to cheat you at that point of time.

since then so many things have changed, other telco started throwing prices and Digi faced intense competition , so they had to follow suit by lowering their prices. nobody expected this you know.

have you written to Digi to ask them to give you more data? here is the problem , if they do that , it will get viral here lol and they have to deal with the social media PR which affected maxis a while ago.

I am sure if they want to give you more data, they must be prepared to give ALL the same.

not easy you know lol.

There is basically no need to argue anymore on this. Its very clear that Digi wont ever accomodate your request no matter what your excuse are. Next time, be a smart consumer and try to look for a Telco which doesn't require you to sign a contract OR which are more willing to accomodate their customers' requests.

ya Lo. ask him get prepaid next time or direct purchase phone.

many of my friends do that.

I have some updates for you. Seems like Digi has revised their policies. You can get in touch with Digi Cs and request for change of plans but the montly subscription of the plan must be equal or higher than your current plan even though you are still in contract.
*
that seems fair. they don't have to do it but they do it anyway as courtesy to their customers. that's why I ask the TS to write Digi to negotiate a win-win situation. no harm trying.

1. coverage coverage coverage

2. if no.1 is ok, I would consider maxis since you don't like your current telco.
