It is the switch that turn on your brake lamp at rear when you stomp on that brake pedal. Doesn't sounds related isn't it?  dry.gif
The revving when free-ing gear I will keep my eye on this... usually the RPM hike thing appear around 5 to 6 times out of 10 attempt.. but as for today I didn't encounter or did not realize the hike in RPM

I'll keep an eye on these

Is the timing between clutch pressing and accelerator release, I feel accelerator press and release having different sensitivity where pressing is delayed and release is instant.

Then the clutch press will normally be faster than you release accelerator resulting in revving (which happen to me sometimes when distracted).

Speed in release clutch will determine the kick in (use snapping speed to achieve maximum launch).

How I get this theory: free gear without pressing the clutch, you will get a smooth slowdown

I know what you trying to say, but for this Persona MT, it was a different case which totally not caused by late release of accelerator.

Because the RPM Hike comes in after you switch your gear to neutral(normally while cruising) the RPM will hike to 1.5k RPM even you have released the accelerator 1 seconds ago before depressing the clutch, and the rpm hike to 1.5k last about 2-3 seconds long then slowly drop back to 1k rpm.

For the bolded part, I thought we were suppose to clutch as long we are switching gears regardless of neutral or other gears?

Maybe you try spring the clutch (when release clutch) next time when you drive, for a few times, see the next morning drive again still got hike or not.

It's just me lazy to press clutch sometimes, this works only when slowing down to lower gear speed then put to neutral, I always did this to my nissan sunny last time

Thanks.
Like a half press?
Some say dont overuse the clutch, say it will damage thr clutch soon, I am confuse. @@

Put neutral and release clutch wholly when approaching red light/ total stop

In slow crawl use clutch to adjust speed depending on situation, just release clutch when expecting a long halt
