The service advisor that i went service 1k told me so pointing at the service booklet. Not really sure true or not as 3years 60,000km free service will consist 7 times of oil changes if u manage to reach the milleage within.

This is what I got from Proton themself.
It's always best to refer back to Proton. They can provide black and white evidence, and the latest and most accurate information.

Got my car, premium spec, yesterday from Vincent, very responsive salesperson and lots of freebies were given by him. Highly recommended.

So far there are few issues with my car, which are
1.Radio volume fluctuates, very irritating
2.Driver window cannot auto up. I read the manual book, it's written there it can. Tried few times but it doesn't work. Please enlighten me.
3.Throttle lag is there, e.g. press 1/3 pedal after a speed bump, and it responses after around 2 seconds. The car is like not moving at all. The pedestrian looking into my car thought why this car stops beside them. Lol. After few attempts, halfway passing the bump I'll press the pedal, it responses just after the bump. Going out from a junction is the same, have to let go of brake 2 seconds and press pedal 1 second before going out to the busy road. Not sure it's my car's problem or it's produced to be like this, I read many reviews saying the lag is very minimal in this car. But idk. I think it's not minimal. I have to adapt my driving style to this CVT.
P.s.i didn't test drive this car, my father test drove it. I'll bring these issues up to the first service.

Some small issue that didn't bother me much:
1.Lack of headrest like in the Iriz on the backseat is not a clever way to attract the customers. My head cannot touch the headrest at all if I stick my back to the backseat.
2. No front map light.
3. For the first time using the front parking sensor, it doesn't sound even the front is very near to the wall. After few seconds it beeps non-stop. After that, it works well. I'll monitor this.

On the bright side, NVH is very good. During idle, cabin is very quiet, no vibration or anything. It's like the engine is off. At 90kmh wind noise is not noticeable to me, road noise is a bit loud(probably due to the stock tyre). The handling is awesome, you have the control during corners. Speakers are decent. Seats are comfortable, headroom is enough for me(175cm). The space at the back are not small, it's the seats are longer, causes lesser legroom. I am comfortable sitting at the back. Keyless entry and push start is very convenient. This is a very complete car in term of safety items, given the price.

persona 2016 dun have auto up for the driver side window based on the mechanic and service advisor had told me

From Iriz thread, Iriz has both auto up and down. So I thought it will be the same for Persona. It's understandable other variant doesn't come with auto up, but even premium...

Guys, any place recommended for doing coil mat? what's the expected price?
*
I did it in Damansara Damai. Price RM80, customized, covering the whole floor. Normal thickness. Workmanship is good. You can try Brother's also. Or Shorty. These are few that I know. Imo, you can do some surveys of accessory shops nearby your place first

My car radio volume fluctuates. It will be softer sometimes and sometimes normal.
Anyone encounters this problem?

Did you use your radio via bluetooth?

No, just normal radio.
I know Iriz have volume fluctuates issue, but can be solved by disable RDS. So I wonder how to solve the problem in Persona. I can't find RDS

Just changed the stock 185/55/15 Silverstone to 195/55/15 RE003 today. Instantly felt the difference. Even though RE003 is design towards performance but still can feel the new tyres are much quieter than the stock Silverstone. Changed to wider 195, felt stable at high way drive and cornering with more confident. Great grip to the road.

And most importantly bought this set from Lazada Tyre Expert with bargain price. Survey a lot of shop but still buy online from Tyre Expert is the cheapest only RM 196.24 per/pc inclusive GST with freebies. Anyone interested to upgrade can consider, I bought it from here.
At first have doubt whether the tyre is legit or not since it is cheaper than a lot of shop and it's my first time bought tyre online but upon checking when arrive the workshop all tyres are year 2016 new tyres. rclxms.gif

This is my car changing new shoes that they post to facebook. Can have a look my Persona new shoes tongue.gif

Stock tyre are noisy as hell but I take it yours is premium seeing the sport rim in silver and it should be Goodyear right? I might change mine when it's due. Right now gonna have to embrace the road noise, use it until it's gone.

Almost involve in accident today, took a corner at 110km/h at kota damansara plus exit. Usually can took the corner pretty easily without any problem but today didn't notice it was raining, road condition were wet. Almost hit the divider, thanks god for the ESC. If not my persona would be hitting the workshop right now. Had it all recorded, but my upload speed are shitty 50KBps  bangwall.gif

Before I bought this car, I thought premium comes with Goodyear too. But it's also Silverstone.
Yeah, the stock tyre is very not good, poor gripping and loud road noise. I need tyre with good grip especially on wet roads(as I travel at high speed most of the time). So I went with the RE003 which is well known for the great performance and value. It has an even more affordable price offered by TyreExpert which is a big bonus to me lol. The car looks cool also with the bigger and wider tyre.
Luckily our cars come with ESC, I can't imagine what will happen if w/o ESC. I think if you corner at high speed and always drive at high speed, it's much safer to get a better tyre to prevent this kind of accident again.

How much did you trade in the silverstone tyres for ?
*
QUOTE(cktang @ Nov 4 2016, 07:20 AM)
Same question here, if can trade in 80 bucks per piece then not a bad deal to change for better tyre or else have to wait the tyre to bold 2 years later. I will go for better quieter tyre though like michelin xm2. If can put in I want 195 60 r15 because the tyre quite bumpy when go through uneven road. Saw the new vios gx spec on roadshow stock tyre using 185 60 r15 conti cc5 only...93k man..
*
QUOTE(DeepMemory @ Nov 4 2016, 07:22 AM)
I was thinking of upgrading my tyres too. The stock tyre on my premium is just too noisy. Mind telling me the age of ur tyre and how much u traded in?
*
I traded in the tyre for RM50 per donut at another workshop.
It runs on the road for about 200km only.
The stock tyre came with very high air pressure, 40psi on my car. It's very bumpy. Maybe you can check yours.
If I'm not mistaken Tyre Expert has a Dunlop 195/55/15 tyre doing promotion, about RM130 only. I guess this tyre will be better than the stock tyre?

How's the car so far? Planning to buy this, but past experiences with Proton is giving me a knockback.

Any issues so far with the car?

How's the QC? Would love some advises from the current owners?
*
So far only one issue with my car. The radio volume fluctuates(not very serious), until now I see only mine have this issue. Anyway, I don't care much, I connect bluetooth and Spotify.
I'll complain about it in first service and see if it can be solve.
Everything in this car works well and the handling is superb to me for a car at this price. Stable at 90km/h. I have yet to try full throttle or go beyond 100km/h since it's still in break in period.
QUOTE(zero5177 @ Nov 7 2016, 08:18 PM)
Guys, I'm on my 1000 km service, is it ok to service the car at Puchong service centre? or just directly book for COSE?
*
In my opinion, if your car has issue which you can't take it, then can go to CoE. If just normal service change engine oil I think any branch is more or less the same. Just be sure what is necessary to change and what is not. Some service centers will add on a lot of unnecessary stuff to earn money. You can refer to your manual book or the service booklet.

Just picked up my Persona today.

As expected, dashboard rattling is present.

Not used to the throttle. Pressing the first few cm, have little response.

How do you set your own stations in the Premium radio unit? No instructions or manual came with it.
*
Go to the frequency you want then long press any one frequency on the list on the left hand side. It will be set after press for like two seconds.
The manual is in the head unit, soft copy.
Btw, did your speaker volume fluctuates?

By the way, anyone know how the Hill hold assist works? I read from manual it says require certain steepness to activate, I tried with some quite steep Hill at stop, but it does not brake for me after I release brake pedal...

Other than that, there were twice I need to crank the second try to be able to start the car... Anyone experiencing this as well?
*
Didn't read carefully of your statement

*
Think from another perspective, if you take the key away from the detected area and the car didn't horn, you might forget to stop the engine and walk away. Then anyone can drive the car away. I think it's a very good feature to have on push start car.

Hi,

im planning to buy a new car .. currently use gen2 .. need pro and cons that u guys have .. price wise is quite okay .. kinda fedup with proton but this is one of the most affordable new sedan car i can buy .. help pls ..

is there any promotion also ..
*
Pros:
-Stable at high speed
-Handling awesome
-CVT big improvement over the Iriz, after driving for 1k km, my car feel little to none throttle lag
-Safety features
-Comfortable for long period sitting in the car
-Speakers
-Head unit is smooth for my car, no lag, I open Spotify and radio only

Cons:
-Rattling at dashboard
-No adjustable headrest for rear seat
-Brake too soft and spongy, but can adjust
-Some people experience loud wind noise at 60kmh
-Some people say the rear seat have little legroom
-Lousy stock tyre
-Interior plastic feels cheap, but can't expect much at this price
-High fuel consumption at city driving
-The passenger doors may hit you if you're not careful when opening the door, it has the arrow-like shape

To me, only the rear seat no headrest is the big con, others either can be solve or don't irritate me.
The engine and gearbox is the same with Iriz, I don't see problem on Iriz for two years(or yet, still early to make conclusion). The engine mounting is different, don't know about the reliability. I like my car very much.
