Not much power from start-up either unless it's over 2k rpm which risking my car rushing forward and hit the car in front. Basically it doesn't feel linear. It's either not (hardly) move or rushing forward, fortunately still can control the clutch pedal to make it a smoother start-up but it definitely doesn't feel right when driving it at low rpm and when want to accelerate.
*
Mine previously was very obvious during startup, especially RPM below 2k, then power delivery suddenly came in after 2k rpm even I'm maintaining the gas pedal... for gear change you may need some time to get used to it... take your time to discover tongue.gif

Hey dude, i was changed my brake switch this valentine's day, after switching nothing improved, the mechanic did changed a new brake switch for me, but dunno is their install no good or what when the way im driving home, the handbrake light suddenly lights on, when i reached home i off the engine and locked the car, i just realized the brake light (3 lights from behind the car) is ON, i have checked that the headlamp was off, so i called the mechanic and he told me to open the fuse box and pluf off one chip to shut down the electricity for the brake light, then the other day i went to the SC he suggested me to go to (Coz the SC i visited always is neaby my working place which is ss15, but i stay in cheras area), after checking and fixing by the SC he suggested, tha handbrake light no more on (when put down the handbrake), and the RPM still rise and slow accelerate below RPM2 (gear 1 and 2), nth change before and after  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

I wondered is it both the mechanic didnt place the brake switch correctly so that the RPM still rise and slow accelerate below RPM2 icon_question.gif

Hey... what is the part number for the brake switch? is it same with mine with V2 at the back? At Iriz thread they mentioned there's a 3rd version brake switch...

Regarding the acceleration because I seldom hard accelerate... but something I notice is that during start up, especially going up hill from a stop, I don't have to pedal down the gas pedal that much compared to before, and another thing is, after shift to 2nd or 3rd gear, let's say the gear engage at RPM 1.3k, I just maintain my foot pressure on the gas pedal, the RPM rise is more linear compared to previously RPM after 2k will the power delivery suddenly kick in like turbo (turbo is overrated... just to illustrate the situation)

One new finding this week is that the random RPM hike to 1.5k for atleast 3 seconds when freeing gear is back, but with less occasion and I also realize it only happen when I free my gear and at the same time the air cond compressor kicked in.

Got myself a set of aftermarket sunshade, one set consists of 4 pieces.
In the package has the clips(comes with double-sided tape to stick on the door panel, and clip on the sunshade), but I didn't use the clips as the sunshade are slotted firmly on the door. It doesn't affect opening and closing the windows.

Been using it for few days, I can feel there is significant less heat transferred into the cabin, especially on sunny days where the sunlight strike directly in the skin.

One disadvantage is it slightly affects you to look at the blindspot at driver window. At night, I'll take off the driver side sunshade to prevent blocking blindspot.

The price is RM59, including postage. I think it's a good alternative if you don't have budget for better window film.
*
RM59 is a very good bargain... If using groovy will easily cost u above 200

My Myvi had them, but I took all of them off already due to like u say... Blindspot... put it on only when really need it.. like say going long distance travel with passengers

I noticed thre's one quirk with new Persona MT: Lacking a foot rest!
Having said that, I'm wondering if I should get an MT. What power delivery problem are you facing?
*
True man... the Lacking of a foot rest is quite annoying especially for long distance drive.. My power delivery is all fine now, satisfied with it laugh.gif

Hi guys. Is it normal to be able to turn on ur player and play music while the key is not even in the ignition on the standard persona?

I just installed 2 speakers at the back and just noticed that I can do that.

I also had problems with starting my car even with the clutch fully pressed in it took me about 2 minutes before I could start.

*I just had the car for 3 days.
*
I usually did not turn off the player, if key's not in, the player is not playing.

I suspect Stop light switch is the culprit... did the car even crank? Last time SA told me after turned on the power, have to wait like 3 seconds before starting the car, this would help avoid making the system hang... so from that day onward I just wait 3 seconds before crank the engine.

Something to note, installing 2 speakers at the rear require wiring which will risk of losing your entire car warranty.. so if you're sending the car to cover warranty... maybe you may need to remove the speaker to avoid them saying you modified their wires. However, need more input on this...

The car did not crank as well.
But upon further testing, it seems that my newly installed carpet is the culprit. I just had to press harder down the clutch to start it up. like as hard as i can hahaha which is weird as i can shift fine without pressing as hard.
hopefully i just had to press the clutch harder is all...

I do get this 1~1.5sec acceleration lag even when i fully dropped the clutch though. Not a big deal but i noticed it when trying to accelerate slightly harder than usual from 1st to 2nd gear. Maybe this is the faulty brake switch i see discussed here a lot?

I drove a 20year proton wira manual for 6 years and even though it was under powered as heck, the power delivery was instant confused.gif

There is also this weird whistling noise that seems like its coming from the upper portion of the window at the driver side and front passenger the moment i go more than 80kmph. Has anyone solved this problem yet?

Will definitely get the throttle delay checked out on my first 1k service.

*edit
Would extra wiring from the player even affect the ignition?
*
Before changing the stop switch lamp I have a few occasion car not cranking even fully depressed clutch, but 2nd try usually successful.
U may cut away/fold that small part of carpet so it don't block your clutch when depressed then see if the problem solved.

Wind noise is common for this car, I've sent to SC for fix, they ordered part for me but haven't update me yet... its ok I don't plan to leave car there yet at the moment.

For the wiring, according to SC any modification require cutting/modifying wire will void car warranty even for engine part, because they said poor wiring can cause short circuit which could possibly damage electrical part of the car like boards.
