For peak time gaming, try between 5 pm - 9 pm Malaysian time. The Oceanic servers would have higher loadings when the Oz + NZ players come on. For US Servers, when it's nightime their time (different servers have different timings)- better to check with US servers since their population is a lot more than Oceanic servers. (http://www.warcraftrealms.com/index.php)

Also weekend gaming starting Friday night. Saturday and Sunday would be packed.

Check out the battlegrounds during those periods as well, especially AV.

Just to make sure that I'm not putting too much hope here. Your line would be independent from TM or Maxis entirely right? Not subcontracted in anyway?

whether it is or isn't, if can do both P2P downloads and play WoW at the same time, thumbup.gif

he should go to a server where AQ is still not open yet and attend the opening. if his connection can last that, everyone will for sure join.

500ms mean the in game latency, or the ping\tracert responsiveness to WoW server?

and how's it gonna perform under 25 raid, 40 raid as well?

25- and 45-man raids are not big events.

Opening of AQ gates : that's big world event. The first 3 hrs would be hectic.

Nah, my first server is one of the oldest server in WoW and it's population is only medium with maybe 5 malaysian tops?

which server has most malaysian play?

I started my toons for like 1 week.. now is 42 warlock.. I find hard to party with my fren from NA due to my work. Currently I'm in Korgath, considering to transfer my toons to a more +8 gmt frenly server. any clue?

thx

We don't know which server has the MOST malaysians, but I know Thaurissan and Gorgonnash have quite a few of us. Korgath is pvp or pve? And the toon you wanna transfer is horde or reliance? if you've only started for 1 week and dont have many hard to get epics, might as well just reroll since transferring your toons will cost you USD25 per toon. Unless of course u're damn rich then imma just gonna shuttup :\
*
oh well. thought that older servers might have a bigger community.

i'm actually not so bothered about having to play with malaysians actually, knowing that it may not be so easy to fine them. yes, it's a comfort blanket but not the do-or-die comfort blanket.

GMT+8 servers : none are fix to that timezone. Unless you mean the Oceanic ones but those are set to GMT+10 Sydney time. I have met a lot of Asians from other countries (e.g. singaporeans, philipines) in the US servers during GMT+8 friendly time.

have an NZ guildie who spent about US100 moving all his toons from US servers to oceanic servers.

bazet, out of curiousity, when you mention that your company is not using the same backbone as TMNET, does that mean that you're either using satellite / WiMAX / 3G?

coz I can't think of any other gateway other than the 2 that is currently owned by TMNET. so only other connections is via something in the air?

or bazet has to invite the guild to his CCs to test it out.

but then, no more PNC. ;p

theoretically, u're correct that a 56kbps modem can work. realistically, hmmm...

oh, one more thing. you forgot a VoIP software for raid communication. usually TS or Ventrilo is used. so you might want to check again.

I think you should try Khaz'goroth. One of the highest if not the highest populated. It's an Oceanic PVE server. I think a few has already mentioned this.

I sometimes wonder why Blizz always say that Oceanic servers are never pack compared to the US servers. Even when it's full.

If you're using Realm Census data as an indication of server population, might not be so good. Blues have come back time and time again to say that their data doesn't say that it's congested.

Full servers are usually those with long queuing times. If you get onto one that is longer than 30 min, you know it's a damn full server.
