Hi, My name is Azril and I work for an ISP company.

I'm not hardcore gamers. Just playing DOTA in LAN or over Hamachi...and never play WoW...so I need your guys help me on this.

I've been reading your guys complain about TMNET quality and about bandwidth problem.

I just want to dig more info about WoW.

1. What's the minimum speed ( kbps ) to play WoW ?
2. What kind of latency you're looking for ?
3. The connection stability...what makes WoW didn't disconnect..the minimum bandwidth ? ( imagine streaming windows need at least 256kbps to make it looks 30fps on scree ..so I need to know WoW minimum bandwidth )
4. If I banned P2P ports on my connection plan, will you happy on it ? Since you guys always blamed P2P for the bandwidth problem.
5. How do guys pay the monthly subscription for WoW ? credit card ? Paypal ?

Ok that's enough........what I need is a technical data that makes playing WoW is heaven.

wow....very good response

I've just downloaded WoW yesterday and play using the 10 days trial....My ping is around 200-300......using the reccomended realms..I forgot the realm name..but it said new and reccomended.

I'm responsible to determine what ports to be opened and close....or open ALL deny SELECTED

This plan is not for WoW only or maybe we can make WoW only plan if the subscribers are many. Before all that happened, I'll need beta testers.

We have a line that not using TMNET backbone......so maybe we can adjust the plan according to the needs.

I cannot reveal here laa..company policy smile.gif..

Well i need to test the line first.......after I'm very sure can get 200-300ms.....then the beta testing alpha will be roll out.

That's why I need to know the ports.

Now....where can I buy gamecard ? Wow prepaid...available near PJ ? Or PJ Digital Mall....

Can somebody make sure is 10k constant connection is enough to play WoW ?

What number of HOPS your looking for ?

We currently serving in Klang Valley area.

Currently we are testing MESH technology, hope this will reduce latency between client to our gateway and direct to the pipe.....

No news yet. STill configuring and a lot of tests...

Currently our office are migrating all the hardware to gigabit connection ( LAN )

I'll update here ASAP. I just need more time to test and compare the result. I have to make sure I can deliver what I can promise...500ms morning, afternoon,dawn and night.........

Added on January 30, 2007, 8:05 pmThaurissan & Nagrand suddenly very laggy. I don't know why.

Ok here's how you can help me.

1. Only open World of Warcraft.
2. ALT + TAB to windows
3. Goe to Command Prompt
4. Type netstat -a
5. Look for connection UDP 3724
6. Copy the url.
7. Paste it here

For example, today I test at Nagrand, and Nagrand ip adress is :

TCP azril:1034 NASARL:netbios-ssn ESTABLISHED
TCP azril:1049 12.129.232.114:3724 TIME_WAIT
TCP azril:1050 12-129-225-43.attens.net:3724 ESTABLISHED

Nagrand : 12-129-225-43.attens.net

Then I can test traceroute, hops,ping for every realms smile.gif

Added on January 31, 2007, 9:44 amNagrand and Thaurissan both from attens.net and I cannot resolve the subdomain IP..........

PNC laa that one smile.gif ...but I'll give a hint...straight to HK mainland....

OK here is my research.

WoW actually doesn't need a lot of bandwidth, theoritically, you can play WoW using TMNET 1315 modem.

I've installed linux bridge to monitor traffic between my LAN to main switch.

Using realtime traffic monitor

IPTRAF recorded these :

Incoming rates : 1.0kbps/sec | 1.2 packets/sec
Outgoing rates : 2.3 kbps/sec | 1.6 packets/sec
Total rates : 3.4kbps/sec | 2.8packets/sec
Wow Latency : 382ms
Realm: Thaurissan

But if I activated Utorrent and using only 100kbps from 1024kbps ( max bandwidth in my dept ).....WoW will suffers...and the lag will topped 5000kbps......only with uTorrent activated.

The PC running uTorrent is using these ports
TCP/UDP Recently Used Ports
Client Port

* 1059
* 1041
* 1130
* 1132
* 1133

Server Port
* 1421
* 2360
* 1041

WoW..I think using port 3xxx ..I have forgotten.

So imagine a 1024kbps bandwidth with no torrent service, I think it can easily serve a lot of WoW players easily.

Well..my hunter just reached lvl 12..and I need to test the bandwidth in raids......

That's for today

For network monitoring purpose
-------------------------------------
OS : Linux Centos 4.4 transparent bridge with 2 NICs bridged uisng bridge-utils
Monitoring : IPTRAF ( realtime ), NTOP ( bandwidth summary ), MasterShaper ( shaping utils )
Firewall : IPTABLES
