QUOTE(bazet @ Jan 20 2007, 05:08 PM)
Hi, My name is Azril and I work for an ISP company.

I'm not hardcore gamers. Just playing DOTA in LAN or over Hamachi...and never play WoW...so I need your guys help me on this.

I've been reading your guys complain about TMNET quality and about bandwidth problem.

I just want to dig more info about WoW.

1. What's the minimum speed ( kbps ) to play WoW ?
2. What kind of latency you're looking for ?
3. The connection stability...what makes WoW didn't disconnect..the minimum bandwidth ? ( imagine streaming windows need at least 256kbps to make it looks 30fps on scree ..so I need to know WoW minimum bandwidth )
4. If I banned P2P ports on my connection plan, will you happy on it ? Since you guys always blamed P2P for the bandwidth problem.
5. How do guys pay the monthly subscription for WoW ? credit card ? Paypal ?

Ok that's enough........what I need is a technical data that makes playing WoW is heaven.

1. Wow only need .2 yes Point 2 KB/s Consitancy. During raids / towns / ah, it will rise to .4 yes Point 4 kb/s.

2. 250 - Infinate . yeah vmad.gif

3. Same as one. You will only need that much of consitancy. I've double checked it with some mods and addons that measure perfomance in wow.

4. Banning ports ranges from 10k + will be alright. Below that is a no no since i have alot of "ahem" servers running.

5. Malaysian cant use paypal yet. Its only reserved for aussy and us. Usually pay thru Master. If cannot then we use Gameshive thru molpoint via Maybank2u.com

Hopes this clarify matters

Oh by the way.

I am not tellings lies about the wow kb needed. Its really Point2 as in .2kb/s.

The reason why is that wow uses a packet header compression to save valuable packet size. Furthermore the location and movement trigger are locally calculated means that.

Normal MMorpg
You move in RO - RO ask server to move char - Server reply char move - RO shows moving to that loc.

Wow
You move in Wow - Wow sends server move. Done

Thats 2 packet less guys. And why dont they scared of speed hacks or telehacks and such since it is calculated locally you ask.

Wow uses warden aka Nprotect for wow.
