if im playing i probably try to get it for free, why do i have to consume  your product? buying ur product in long run i better buy those in game item myself.

sometimes ppl over optimistic on ideas on something they like, but when it comes business its a whole different story. customer behaviour is important.

Actually I don't agree if it concerns food and beverage. How many malaysians pack food and drinks when they go out. People will generally eat and drink at anywhere which is near to them.
Also, some people will paiseh don't buy anything like those at mamak/mcd/kfc. Buy 1 drink and sit there for 5 hours to use the internet.
Also don't forget youth like to look cool (eventhough they don't have the money for it yet). So if a place looks cool to hangout (environment is good for chitchat) they will buy a drink or 2 and chill out with friends.

But most important thing is after the hype died down, what are you going to do? How to attract and maintain customers? Like the mcd minion hype. Now habuk pun tak ada. That's why need something sustainable like cheap and good food plus with alwaya keep up to date on the latest hype.

yes malaysian didnt pack food when they go out to shop. but if just stop by a mcd near your house for poke gym or catch some pokemon, do you think they sit down and havw a drink? probably not, masuk tangkap cabut. i never play pokemon go before , so i do not know how long u need to use the gym. if its just a 5min thing, i dont think ppl will consume. at least i wouldn't.

The gym is 24/7 thing.. U need to defend the gym at all times, if u no defend, other team come and fight all the way and control the gym. If they own the gym, probably they got some benefits lo..

It is not about just catching..
Pokemon can appear anywhere any place.. But gym is fixed location.. Like a place for pokemon trainer to battle and control their land

Businesses can actually double as a "Pokemon Gym" within by simply paying a certain amount to Niantec and Nintendo to sponsor themselves as a Gym. Basically if a particular business say a cafe were to be a Pokemon Gym, as you mentioned, businesses may thrive as more potential may only go there to battle Pokemon in the Gym.

As what McDonald is doing, they are featuring themselves as both a Pokemon Gym and Pokestop like the ones in Japan. Basically it will be plus because then kids can enjoy their Happy Meals while battling random trainers or in the future, 1v1 multiplayer battle in the restaurant itself. If I recall, there are rewards such as claiming free Pokecoins for them to exchange for items like Potions, Pokeballs etc.

How it's going to be done in the future is quite questionable. But it can be done for businesses to promote their outlet as a Pokemon Gym and Pokestop.

And one more thing whether it would affect Real Estate price is, yes, now everyone is playing and all, but until proven otherwise, would like to see how this would impact the real estate pricing. It would impact propert and rental prices in the short term, but what about say 5 years from now? Unless it does not become a "Harlem Shake" or a Flappy Bird, as mentioned prior to it, depends whether if this can be sustainable well beyond that 5 years. That question is worth as much as Nintendo's share appreciation since the game came out.

Seems the revenue from Pokemon Go is not going to be as big as everyone speculated.

Then again, their stock is severely overheated from that last few days that have already doubled the stock. About time for some cooldown.

No one realized that the player don't really need to enter the premise to access the Gym or PokeStop?

There's a radius to it, to prevent people from simply trespassing private properties. Unless due to some agreement, it's heavily shrunk to fit the business premise only. Or else just standing in front the shop or enter the neighbor's shop is sufficient already.

What I foresee is Pokemon Go selling spawn events to malls. E.g. 1U, Mid Valley, Pyramid etc pays Pokemon Go for a rare pokemon to spawn in their mall for a weekend or so. That & combined with some marketing would definitely drive people into the mall. Another possibility is to sell battle events (a feature not introduced yet), e.g. spawn an evil Charizard for an hour in specific place for people to battle in masses.

to tell you the truth, only big malls can do it.... small mall struggling do not have the purchasing power and maybe not even qualify to host such event.... pokemon company do not want to go an empty mall to promote their game.... have you ever seen big super star held their event in ghost mall? i cant imagine having pokemon event inside econsave or the store.

That'll probably one of the main income for Pokemon Go. Selling "events" to big companies as crowd puller. Set an event date, blast kau kau in the media that there'll be a Mewtwo spawning at 12pm to 4pm in Genting for 1 weekend. Damn that mountain is gonna be so crowded.

Scared later they encourage customers that in order to get the freebies, you have to purchase a meal and then ask you to log in to their WiFi, confirm will get jam up thier WiFi system.

On the other hand, what about for those places with lack of foot traffic, instead of spawning legendary Pokemon like Mew or Mewtwo into those dead places, what about encouraging those uncommon Pokemon that can only be found in selected places to spawn at their mall.

For example, Dragonite. Maybe say Dragonite can only be found at KLCC Park. But of course, there might be people who are just plain lazy to drive all the way there say if you're from Seremban. So what they can do is spawn at places such as the Mitsui Outlet Park at KLIA for example (that place have foot traffic, just using as an example).

It should be effective but not sure how the cost is going to come out to promote having Dragonite in those places but it should gonna be more cost effective than having Mew or Mewtwo at those places with less or no foot traffic. Just my opinion.
