Hi all the sifu here,

I will be travel to Vietnam on the coming September
Normally I will top up my credit for Hotlink or Umobile to use the data roaming service at overseas such as Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia

Hotlink Social Roaming Pass, unlimited Facebook, Twitter, whatsapp and 200MB for other usage, RM20 for 3 days
Umobile Data Roaming Pass, Unlimited Quota @ RM10 per day for selected country

However, I wonder why both Hotlink & Umobile did not provide the roaming service at Vietnam ?
I try to seach for Digi and Celcom both of them have no info of roaming service at Vietnam as well

I prefer to use the data roaming service just in case people call/sms me I will know when I travel to overseas and I dont have to take out and put back the sim card
PS: my phone need the sim card tray pin to remove the sim card, quite troublesome for me

Anyone can help ?

Thank you tongue.gif

If not mistaken, none of any Malaysian Telco tied roaming services with Vietnam for some reason. Anyone know the exact reason?

Just get Viettel there.

Don't buy in airport, buy in any phone shop nearby where you will be staying.

50,000 for 1 local sim, 100,000 top-up. 150k = RM25-30.

then activate 30days internet pass for 1.2GB for 90k.

You got balance of few xxk's for call or SMS.

Hi guys.

Any update ? Did anyone go to Vietnam very recently?

I checked at Hotlink and Umboile. Both offered a RM38 and RM36 daily data roaming with Viettel. Umobile stated in their Fair Usage Policy that RM36 is for 10MB a day and after that slow speed.

Have anyone used those before ?

any of the big three: viettel, vinaphone and mobifone.

at tan son nhat airport, vinaphone sells a 3gb data card for 105k dong which i think is a good deal.

Recently i went to Vietnam... Lets just say its been a new experience for me.. I would say most important to have would be your own wifi or mobile data. to capture the moment and to upload the experience is really a blast.

End year... Lot of people start travelling.. Why am i the only one in KL..
and yes it is important to do research on whether to get roaming from KL or Vietnam...
last time get the sim card at Vietnam..but with the communication problem with the seller..unable to use the sim card and no refund coz i open the pack already...
next time i go..will just use activate my celcom roaming..rm 38 per day..with double data now so less hassle...
