im rocking goon as my daily drive now. have 2 of them. yes the hype is real. the flavors and clouds are phenomenal. the deck is amazing for any of my bigass claptons coil. currently on full 316l staple spaced alien and tsuka coil.

unfortunately i never slap rounded wires in it. but yes it is doable of course but i think only suitable for low gauge wire 24ga and below.

my friend builds clapton as a hobby. he did build full ss or ni80 or just ka1 using all wires from KidneyPuncher. u can request any build from him but ofc with certain amount of price.

i can vouch that his coil can last at least a month if u do proper cleaning method.
there's a video about tips on how to clean up clapton by squidedoode in his page( u can simply youtube that too)

about price..it's all comes down to the usage of wires for each/pair of clapton he made or
the difficulty of the build (staggerton being the PITA )
whether it's framed or not, staples or rounded cores...and the gauge (normally he'll do 36g outer but u can also request up to 42g)
i believe he dont gain much...at least enough for him to get his wires restocked

it's about wires. most pre built u found in the market are using china wire..while most builders are building for the best in their mind by using made in usa wire e.g. pureatomist, twisted messes or kidney puncher. the quality and durability is ensured. most importantly the taste is way better.

it's about the spec of build. most aftermarket prebuild using 32g at most..that will make the wrapping humongous and wont fit most atty holes and deck. the type of wires also can be varies not just ka1 or 316l. personally i very much prefer ni80 claptons. high ramp up time and faster cool down.


oh btw alien claptons by jentayu are not a regular alien. it's either staple(6ply ribbon or above) or framed staple alien which is my personal favorite. there is also interlocked alien of u want a more intricate build

im sure most of u dna200/133/75 knows this already,. preheat function only works in temp sensing mode but theres a "cheat" to get ur board a preheat function on power mode. this really handy when u use clapton to speed up the ramp up time

u need to consider dna200 device with lipo battery if u want to fire high wattage

i think asmodus has the best battery life.
90w to 100w can last me 2 days sometimes more with minikin 2(dual battery). the best mod i ever had honestly. seriously i hardly rock my other mods ever since i got the minikin 2.
