Put a rubber band around the plastic case, even if the latch is still good...that's what I do. And that goes into a compartment in my fanny pouch that has no metal objects. It gets real bouncy when offroading, never had a battery spillage yet.

Well lazada has UD SS claps, and I believe some local vape shops carry that brand too. Yeah it's not geekvape but could tide u over till the slow plane from china arrives.

Last year I had thought of re-configuring soft-drink machines to dispense vape hardware and bottles of e-juice. Would have named the machine "Vape Emperor", and placed a unit very near each of the more-popular VE outlets. Was unsure how the ROI would be, and the safety of machines from vandalism and angry VE bosses was in doubt. Had that plan gone forward, you could be popping to a vending machine near u to get some SS claps

Were I not been stuck in the darkest parts of jungle bunnyland, I'd probably have ended up with a 75W Therion and would be gnashing my teeth now.

Had written to every vaper I know in the US and UK, asking for a bit of help to persuade Lost Vape to make a higher-powered Therion...maybe the write-in efforts of overseas vape brudders (and several sistas) has borne fruit?? Hopefully that photo is not a fan-made one, and a DNA200 version will eventually reach our shores. If and when it arrives, I'll definitely get one!!

Singpost seems to be getting a bit faster. My FT package was sent out on the 18th and cleared Kastam on 25th. Arrived at the wrong town on 26th (thanks to some dumbasses in Pos Malaysia), was sent to my town, and I've been using only Vapers Choice Supima cotton since the 29th of Aug.


Big cons: Very long break-in period compared to TVL, Kendo and KGD. It varies between 10+ tokes to over 4ml of juice (depending on tank, build and juice used) before the "unique flavor" of this cotton goes away. The price is also too high...but I just HAD to try it.

Smaller con: priming it on a fresh build is a bit difficult. It takes longer for the juice to be absorbed compared to the other cottons. Had to pulse the coils to accelerate the process.

However once it's broken-in properly, very good performance. Very clean and consistent flavor tank after tank, and the wicking rate is excellent. My own informal burn test showed it to be superior to Kendo in heat resistance. The amount of juice it holds also seems to be slightly more than Kendo.

If you rewick frequently and/or are not concerned with heat resistance, no need to spend money on this cotton. However if you want better flavor and often chain-vape, this cotton may be worth trying. The very soft and long strands are nice to handle, and also look very neat and tidy on a build...perfect for those who take close-up photographs of their vape gear.

If you want to get the best performance out of that chip, you'll have to put in some effort. IMO the results of tweaking the mod to your satisfaction make it all worthwhile!

At first it may seem like a lot of work, but once u get familiar with it all, it's really not much of a problem. I'll put the links to 2 "quickstart" guides below, but urge you to learn the chip thoroughly when u have time.

Before u consider swapping the 510:

Cold joints can cause problems similar to yours, and can be remedied by reflowing the solder.

2) Get/borrow a multimeter and do a continuity test.

It's been ages since I last played with the Zephyrus v1 so I'm working from memory, but here's what I can suggest:

1) Up the wattage to 18-23W. Experiment!

2) Space the 2mm ID coil. Remove one wrap if necessary. And adjust the height between coil and air inlet. Again you'll have to experiment to find the sweet spot; 2-3mm distance worked for me.

3) Speaking for myself, I preferred 26ga nichrome to 28ga. The latter somehow caused the flavor to be "flatter", lacking in the middle notes.

IMO a dripper will have a more intense "in your face" flavor compared to the Zephy v1(which is very good for less furious smooth and gentle tokes). One of these days I'll dig it out from the storeroom and try it with 26ga SS and supima cotton.

Magic Wick: RM20 very similar in performance to Team Vape Labs. One wad of cotton in paper can; rip, roll, stuff and get a decent ordinary vape.

Cotton Bacon v2: RM22, beats Vapers Choice Supima cotton in that there's virtually no break-in time. However the middle notes of my ADV juices were slightly muted, while VCC (after the funky cotton taste goes away) produces strong, clean and consistent middle notes. This one's a keeper.

Both cottons were used in ordinary spaced SS and clapton SS coils with the same juices and attys. Won't comment on ease of use because I love fiddling with cotton wads as well as cotton pads/blocks/ropes. YMMV.
