My new Alza Advance car (only used 10 days with 700KM mill) engine died while in idle (10minutes) at parking. When I check indicator, fuel gauge says still got 52 KM of fuel.

Sent to SC, SC said fuel finish. After they top up fuel, they want to release back.

I ask them to do further check. And it seems they cleared the electronics.

My question:
1. Is the Fuel to Kilometers estimate so bad? 52 KM already engine died. Is it standard to accept 52 KM error deviation?
2. Anyone else had this issue?

IINM, mine goes to lowest level at around range 120km, and start blinking around 100km.
Lowest range I go (very seldom) is 60+, then indicator '---' already. I guess this is the characteristics of alza.
Because my sister myvi at range 15km, also no issue.
I never encounter mati enjin before due to fuel issue.

I have Myvis, even after no fuel estimate indicator still can drive to refuel. Quite strict/safe to be refuelling at 60+. But interested if any other Alza that can reach 10km estimate without refuel.

Tq for sharing!

Me think not enough mileage for ecu to calibrate your fuel reading. And it can happen, my friend alza fuel finish at 60km at the entrance of petrol station ha ha.

As for me, never have that problem eventhough few time range meter already show ---
*
SC also said not enough mill for ECU. But 52km = no fuel is very big measurement gap for a new car.

Your friend is worse, mine at least got 8km buffer lol. But what that means, I have to ensure I cant go low 60km also, very safe and strict limit else car kaput on road... dry.gif

And Tq for sharing!

I only tried once. Where below 50km range..it shows ---
I track it by odo and i have to get to next station about 25km, with steady 90kph, then pump to full. Based on what i remembered, i still have like 5 litre left.

I dont dare to go further.

I think new car still have to "learn" to get a more accurate range. And on off, I reset thw range at some 1 year period to let it calculate again.

how do you reset the range?
