So my sister give her alza to my parents, I have to take care it from now. Cars is 7 years old(1st gen I think) but really low mileage - 84000 km.
A month after using it, I notice fuel consumption is so bad. 1st full fill up - 10 km/L, 2nd fill up - 8 km/L. Mostly city driving. The car also so slow to accelerate. Any tips to improve it?

Better check is it under maintenance service. Change engine oil, ATF OIL, ATF filter.

Adjust the fuel pedal cable, tighthen it will give better respond. And tyre pressure.

Yeah, the pedal felt so hard to press. I read about grounding cable, vios injector etc. placebo or it really works?

suggest you do all the basic check and necessary maintenance before plan for additional top up.

My Alza using REDLINE power filter, also got EDGE VS attach on battery, good conduct GC points, 2000VE and EZ VS plug on cigarette point. But still basic maintenance will affect the actual performance.

Another thing is if the car use to slow drive short distance drive .. usually less power. ECU need time to adopt new driving style. Meaning it need to be train.

Too many factors can affect the performance. You need to spend time test and drive.

Alright, thanks for the tips man

I just do alignment for my alza but the tyres still misaligned and the foreman suggest it is faulty lower arm plus I think absorber already gone kiok because even small bumps feel too hard on the car. So i want to ask whether I should replace only front absorber or all four? And for alang2 nak tukar which parts should be replace along with the lower arm?

get 2nd opinion i.e another tyre shop. Tyreman should know wether lower arm / absorber ok or not, cannot merely suggest
Can change front absorber only

Check the lower arm visually for bend or crack on bushing. If everything seems normal no need replacement. Local rubber parts are very durable which it hardly harden.

I would say you should replace the absorber mounting as well when replacing front shock unless your car is still new like 5 years or less. Anyway, replacing a new absorber will give you softer feel for few months only. Afterwards it will feel hard at bump again. For rear no need replace if it bounce normally.

Thanks guys. The car is old. I dont know whether the previous owner had ever change the absorbers.

What you you mean by tyres still misaligned??

may not be an lower arm issue.  all suspensions, arms, etc are connected together.

If you feel the car like floating or bouncy or 'buang', then mostly the absorbers is a goner. We can test by pressing it down few times on each side and release, if the car bounces up down many times like 'toing toing toing' before it settled at the position, then it is gone.

the alignment guy would know if the alignment is off with the alignment machine on, they can adjust to the best possible, unless it is 'bengkok'  somewhere (possible the car hit a big pothole.
Last time (like 3 years ago), the rim bengkok liao.  after then change to new rim, everything else ok.  Wear and Tear on the 'bush' on lower arm etc which is normal.  I change the lower arm about 2 years ago.

suggest go to another workshop to check, unless this is your very trusted shop.

let us know what you mean by misaligned.. thx

I did the alignment when I sent the car for service at perodua sc. So when I get back to my car, the perodua foreman came to me and said he had to inflate front left tire at higher pressure than the rest because the car keep going left and he said it was probably due to faulty lower arm. About the absorber, I feel the ride is not comfy anymore even the slightest bump feel hard on the car. Next monday I will go to my trusted workshop let him recheck the suspension

ok ok.. slightly to the left.  Check the tyre pressure yourself to make sure.  sometimes, they pumped >36lbs for me.. every single stone also can feel.

there are possible few things i can think off..
1. the tyres on the left is 'thinner' then the right
2. the absorber possible out on the left..?
3. the brake pad could be holding the left side more, the right seems to be more 'released'.  if the brake pads worn out more than the right one, then this could be the issue.  lube the caliper pins.
4. worn out bearing.

the alignment guy may help to identify the root cause..possibly.

also to note that some/most hiways have 'tilted' to left or to right for running rain water.  but it is not a lot.  If you let go the steering, it may possible sloooooowly move one side, but hardly.  Unless you let go, it just go left immediately.

just my 1 cent thought.

Alright thanks bro. Already pening with this alza. High fuel consumption plus the car is not that good. Slow acceleration, wind noise issue. The only good thing is because I'm tall so really comfortable during driving. Definitely better during kancil days lol.

Hi sifus, just wondering any of you used Continental CC6 on your Alza?
Tyre Expert is selling RM146.98 for 195/55R15.
Lazada link

I have been seeing extreme reviews on the net - especially on the handling and braking. Some say very good handling and grip and some say horrible especially at high speed.

Basically I'm looking for an overall better tyre than the stock tyres, the stock one damn bad wet handling, experienced few times aquaplaning already. Not to mention they are quite noisy too...

Driving style: mostly city driving and occasional highway trip. I usually just drive 110 to 120 km/h on highway.
*
I guess you already bought new tires but cc6 is good enough for city drive. Quiet and comfort rides. Nothing special pun

Update: just did an inspection at perodua now. So the real problem is due to an accident I had few months ago. Probably because that time I sent it to ketuk shop and maybe due to that the crossmember is fucked up and the service advisor told me chassis need to be tarik??(I dont know the real term for this). They quoted me rm1.3k and above to replace crossmember and pull the chassis. Fuck me. What do I now?
