Hi! I am considering to buy an alza, is it the best time to buy it now (no GST) or wait for the new facelift? I heard that new facelift will come out on oct 2018 but that time will have SST (10%!) anyone can give me some command? Thanks first.

It is hard to comment too for me... maybe look from the view on what you need:

1. Do you need to use a car now? if yes, take what you need now. If not, wait lo.

2. Do you really like the new facelift alza or the more conventional current model?

3. Price wise, new FL have sst and not sure the price also, so if the current is more affordable and save sst then take it now.

4. Sure Oct 2018??

5.... BTW, you make the decision... dry.gif

if got extra budget, go get brv.

Alza also good car for its price, just that its long in the tooth already...2009 until now

My shortlisted candidates are - Alza, Nissan livina x-gear and honda brv.

I am looking for a higher vehicle than a normal 4 door sedan but I don't actually need a 7 seater hence the livina x-gear in the list which also has higher cc at 1.6. AFAIK Alza and brv is 1.5

Anyone tried or tested all 3 before? Any comments?

My view on these 3....

1. Livina X-gear -
it is not new as it launched since 2011 which priced about 80k. I personally think it is just some 'conversion' from grand livina to this somewhat SUV which is not really an SUV. I think it should be a cross-over. Nothing much to shout about this car though. Maintenance, i donno, try ask spare part shop.

2. BRV
Price is about 80k too. Higher sitting position compared to the other 2. It is CVT though, but you don't complain about how it is the performance and how 'cheap' is the maintenance. Boot space.. it says fold flat, but it is not in actual, the 3rd row is waste of space with such design.
A plus is rear aircond.
Okay la as it is new car and it is honda (if you want classy "I drive a honda").

3. Alza -
Compared to Livina, Interior i think Alza has more spacious, with 3rd row down it becomes 5 seater but more room at rear for loading of luggage space. The 3rd row seats can be handy if needed be. I have it mostly folded down.
Price of course more affordable compared to the other 2 and maintenance cost definitely better than the other 2.

all 3 cars Drive-ability - pick up livina and alza will win BRV. Go up hill too, but again these 3 is just 1.5-1.6. Honda has higher view. I think you yourself need to test drive all 3 cars first as no one will tell you which car suits you.

This just my comments for your reference.
*Some sharing to you and all.
a. a friend first time sit in to alza.. ooh quite spacious for this price rclxms.gif
b. another friend - wah.. can put so many luggages to KLIA, his car can't even fit 2 mid size (vios). rclxms.gif
c. IKEA - Alza can mostly slot in items with 2nd row folded. Even BMx have to scratch head. vmad.gif
d. got 3rd row... where... tada.. icon_idea.gif
Alza not the best car, but definitely a good car.

there will be no ESC/VSC with drive by cable throttle, it requires drive by wire to enable VSC. So current alza will not have ESC.

if alza only 1.5cc, not only underpower, it is even no power, honda c70 kapchai also 70cc already. hahaha....

being an mpv, it is never meant to be a powerful car to have, i would say, the power is good enough for task given to it.

hi to all brothers here.
need some advice on tires replacement as my Alza already clock 60k km on stock Silverstone Synergy M3

Alza stock tire : 185/55 R15

Still not sure want to change to 185/60/R15 or keep 185/55 R15.
Nothing wrong with Synergy M3, but would like to hear from you all.

Please advice.
Thank you.

How about cabin filter? Necessary to change on every 50k Km or other? I checked back my service log...SC staff had changed it twice, 1st time at 10K KM second changed at 50k KM.
*
depends individual.

but as a rule of thumb, twice a year.

because the cabin filter is cheap, aircon system is expensive.

so i replace it about 6month once. or every oil change tongue.gif

I agree with Darkdevil. 185/60/R15 is okay to use.. but the sidewall could be softer i think. 55 is better choice.. why not use 195/55/R15.

Silverstone has bad bad records, same goes to Sime.

Wow.. seems like you all are using 195/55/R15.
Definitely will look into 195/55R15 thumbsup.gif
Would it still fit the current stock rim? hmm.gif Or I also need to change rim as well?

Mostly getting Mic XM2 or Pirelli P6.... still not sure about others... any feedback to share?
Was driving Kenari before Alza, so don't have much experience doh.gif
