Congrat V4.

Hi All, I am new and recently purchased Alza Advance drive for few days and my comment as below.

1. Yea...there is a little rattling sound from the driver seat door when driving and I couldn't find where exact come from.
2. Don't know what sound from back left during driving when by pass the bump. Sound like something loose, couldn't find exact come from too. sweat.gif
3. Some dirty stain on the roof top guess the technician accidentally "finger print" on it sweat.gif
4. It come with the solar and tinted glass but SA said better change it cause it's still hot. Can any one recommend a good tinted brand with reasonable price? I drive my children outstation and i am very concern on the solar and security of theft breaking from the window. Nowadays... scary. It is need to change all or just add a layer will do?
5. I think of changing the PVC Mat cause the original look smaller can't cover all sweat.gif Any good recommendation?
6. Yea... can hear the engine sound from inside car... is it normal? How to improve the sound proof?
7. Saw the post before about the Tyre issue...really scare me too as i drive outstation often. Really need to change for the latest Alza Advance? The original is silverstone with Titanium rim.
8. Key alarm without sound makes me not comfortable... if I change the alarm will it affect the immobilizer and void the warranty?
9. The horn sound is too soft and terrible to me... will need to change

I would like to seek for the Sifu advice here for better improvement.

Many thanks smile.gif

1. My alza has the rattling sound too.  It's from the B pillar until now still unable to get it fix because it does not always produce the sound. It just magically temporary disappear upon car service day.
2. Lately my car has the same sound too when getting over speed bump. It only happens after the car running for hours. I did the diagnose by myself. Not the lower arm bush and not the sway bar bush as well. Suspect from absorber or the mounting.
4. The tinted brand is llumar. Yes the heat rejection is so so only. I suggest to apply another layer instead of replacing it unless you are going to replace it with something cost thound/s.
6. I can hardly hear the engine sound when my car was new. It has been getting "roarer" now since my trip to genting long ago.
7. I have been using the Silverstone stock tire as well. Does not seems perform as bad as reported. Only issue is annoyingly noisy.
8. You can just add a alarm buzzer without replacing the alarm system. Better still you might want to get the module set which  include alarm beep,  side mirror auto fold,  and brake door lock.
*
mmmm, I see if I can add in some here.

1. Troubleshooting rattling can be tough...if B pillar, where the sound is from B pillar top, there could be some loose wire. If below, there could be some loosing nut or sound from the seat belt mechanism. Try with out seat belt fasten and with...

2. is it knocking sound? from front or back? Try get SC to tighten undercarriage.. I have this sounds.. 2 types. knocking when going thru bumps, suspect absorber mounting. if 'sii-ssak', could be the bush - but no sound when/after raining..heheheh

6. Engine noise... when push?? or idle? really donno as each person's quietness / loudness level is diff.
been up to genting few rounds.. so far so good. Check your engine oil.

8. Add a buzzer will do it.

1.My rattling sound is from bottom.  It sounds "zee zee zeee ze"  repeatedly. It actually sound like thin plastic hitting metal vibration sound.  I am unable to record the sound because it kinda too soft. Kinda loud to my ear though.

2. Mine actually sound "nyik nyek". It is actually friction sound between metal and rubber.
*
Try moving your front seats front and back...adjust it and lock it back in place. See if helps

Hi guys, anyone had changed the "drive belt (alternator, water pump, air conditioner)" before? And how is the charges?

My car soon clocking 120,000km, recently it does have the so called "Mouse" noise coming out when step pedal or standstill and put N.
*
Drive belt...120,000 have not change once?

I changed the belt when water pump leaking, the belt wear out already...forgot when i changed it...but normally 40k to 60k i think to check and replace if needed. Sometime, looking at it seems good, but need to look at belt inner part for cracks.

The noise is where the belt loosen, best to change it as once putus, is inconvenient. The belt not expensive...definitely less than 100.

hi guys, lama tidak singgah. Anyone here pasang additional fan to aircond radiator? those high speed 20k fan from Avantech or Cross. just want know the result. Worth or not. Alza aircond too weak. Second row dont feel a thing even tho full blast. Celah paha peluh wei.. really not comfortable.
*
I wonder why...2nd row so far okay for my parents and my kid during noon time.

Only starting full blast and then slow down to 3 or 2. The temperature is about 60% dial.

Adding a fan would help but best to have a clean cabin filter and do a simple cleaning would be good.

I just diy foam cleaning and change filter too. At night, my kid asking to lower down the fan as cold

Oh ya..set the fins pointing up so it goes to 2nd row via the ceiling and you should have the blower set to front outlet plus inner circulation.

Hi all.

Just got my alza. Anybody having issue where the interior light wont shut off when the door is closed. I've set the switch to "door" at the light switch.

And there is a red light blinking on the meter cluster even when the alarm is not armed.

Any idea?
*
The interior light will dimmed out after like 20 sec after all door closed. It will off immediately once u on the alarm.

The red blinking is where the immobilizer kicks in with or without alarm on.

I have Myvis, even after no fuel estimate indicator still can drive to refuel. Quite strict/safe to be refuelling at 60+. But interested if any other Alza that can reach 10km estimate without refuel.

Tq for sharing!
SC also said not enough mill for ECU. But 52km = no fuel is very big measurement gap for a new car.

Your friend is worse, mine at least got 8km buffer lol. But what that means, I have to ensure I cant go low 60km also, very safe and strict limit else car kaput on road...  dry.gif

And Tq for sharing!
*
I only tried once. Where below 50km range..it shows ---
I track it by odo and i have to get to next station about 25km, with steady 90kph, then pump to full. Based on what i remembered, i still have like 5 litre left.

I dont dare to go further.

I think new car still have to "learn" to get a more accurate range. And on off, I reset thw range at some 1 year period to let it calculate again.

how do you reset the range?
*
i normally refer to the owners manual.

If not wrong, there is a knob there (same as you reset the odometer). Switch it to range / FC, then long press to reset. Best to refer the manual as i don't have it with me now.

Hi guys wanna check with fellow Alza users, is there anyone using 195/55/R15 and 185/60R15 ?
Mind sharing your experience with this tire ?
Thanks
*
Using 195/55 since 6th month new car time. 195/55 gave little better handling with harder side walls. 185/60 more comfort. Personal feeling la. But regardless which size, best to take better tyres like mich.

hi lyn alza users, i saw in the 1st page the recommend brake pad is bosch power plus. other than this, got any others brand brake pad to be recommend?
*
I am using pro silvertech since changed the disc. ok, so far. Better than 'proton' as well as APM.

Hi.  Can u know if anyone has the same issue where rust found at rear brake drum cover as well as the battery hold down bracket?

I reported the issue to perodua SC Glenmarie but the service advisor told me those are not under warranty so cannot claim. Any idea? I have yet to check to perodua warranty center though.
*
like that...just remove the rust and repaint it.

Hi Dark Silver, mine to share which tyre brand and spec are you using ? I'm planning to change 4 of my tyres soon.
Hi Kiefer , my initial plan was to fit Bridgestone Potenza RE 080 185/60R15  but not sure will it be too bouncy. On the other hand I would like to equip with Pirelli P1 Cinturato 195/55R15 . Cost for both tyres were about 40 MYR each ...... still hesitating which to go for.

Assume you're using Michelin ? Tread wear and performance so far so good ?
*
I have clocked like 15k on the Mich XM2. So far so good. It is quieter than my previous Pirelli (P7 i think or older model) and Kumho (same 195/55).

During same cornering speed up Genting, Mich don't screech sound compared to the other 2. Maybe the P1 is better now, I can't comment as not using.

Bridgestone...long time tak pakai..so not sure how now.

185/60 and 195/55, if you like a little better 'performance' and cornering..195/55 is better. Our stock shocks are soft as we all know. Don't overspeed especially over corners, know the limit and your limit too...Alza not a sport car..hehehe

*I just travel to Kuantan via Kuala Pilah route.. with dry and some wet... this mich is good for me. Now it is due for alignment and balancing. bruce.gif

Nice bro, thanks for sharing your experience with both tyres.
My concern to all Michelin tyres is their tyre wear...... Well i think i just go for 195/55R15

P/S I sometimes over-tortured my car's shocks, I've claimed my front shocks just after 1 year using my car .... hehe
*
Tyre wear is subjective bro. Soft compound tyres would give better grip but wears out faster...if want to have longer wear period, hard tyres like s*stone or china brand would do, but sacrifice noise comfort and harsh ride.

Also if tyres that has bigger threads holes so called would be noisier.

My average mileage a year is about 20k km. and if a set of tyres provides 2-3 years...very good liao and a proper maintenance like alignment and rotation helps too.

I am a biker too, so choosing good grips tyres safer.

I see , yea your info about the tyre lifespan helps alot. I do about 35k per month and my ori S*stone lasted me about 46k now with 30% left.
I don't want to get any eco tires to compromise for cornering grip and braking grip ( Alza std brakes seriously pain in the butt ) that's why i would pay slightly more for safety concern.

I've found RE003 for a fair amount of price per set but yet with my high mileage running i can't be keep changing every 1 year .... lol
*
35k per month?...typo ke..u mean 35k per year? Hehehe

It is hard to get long mileage tyrea with good grip...if your tyre shop good, u can ask them on the records they have.

Priorities these so u know what comes first..then maybe easier to decide.
1. Grip
2. Comfort low noise
3. Mileage
4. Budget.

Anyone had this issue where you left you car idle for like 2 days. Then you start and switch on the AC and there's metal engage sound from compressor.

Send SC PJ, they told me it's normal for Alza.
*
It is like the 'tak' or 'tok' sound. ya.. morning especially when the engine idle speed is high after few days.

it happens when you park at slope and either you switch to P and let go of foot brake before you engage parking brake brake, or.... your parking brake doesn't apply fully, it move a bit and the P claw biting the gears. Is kind normal especially on slope.

on flat road, engage P without setting parking brake also will make you hard to shift from P to R. and is a bad habit.

Agree too

I have this too. On hiway, the road normally angle left for water to run off..this could be issue.

You can try have left side tyre pressure a bit more.

But just slight left only. That is how I understand

I have strut bar, not helping on this slight left on hiway.

If i have budget, i may go for anti roll bar at rear.
Not sure about others thou

Ya...price is steep...if have 19mm ok also....
