Which has better picture quality for movies? Mu6300 or x8000e?
*
They are not of the same range , mu6300 seems to be the curved version of mu6100.
While the specs of Mu6100 / 6300 are competing with x7000e , which are on the entry level of 4K HDR tv

From Rting's website :

Samsung MU6300 VS X8000e
The MU6300 is an entry level 4k TV from Samsung. It's a bit better in a dark room, but picture quality degrades rapidly at an angle. It doesn't have some of the HDR-related features found on the X800E, but the contrast ratio is a big difference. Especially since it is quite a bit cheaper, most people will be better off with the MU6300.

Thanks for replying. I've been reading so many reviews and that hasn't helped, instead its making it harder to choose. Like within the mu6300 range there's always something wrong for movie viewing

If you are choosing between mu6300 and x8000e , go for the mu6300 (or 6100 if you don't want the curved series )

Reviews are always nitpicky and criticizing on something , because that's what reviewers do .
And display screen reviewers have to be extra harsh if they want to show you the difference .

Many of what they talked about are actually not so noticeable for a regular person who just want to buy a 4K tv and enjoy themselves .

The only thing x8000e has over mu6300 is X8000e has supports for wide color gamut and very slightly HDR improvement .
The rest of the technical reviews from x8000e are not good at all and especially the piss poor contrast level because it uses an IPS Panel.

To me, Samsung 2018's 7 series more like equivalent to 2017's 6 series.
*
the NU 7 series is meant to be the successor of last year's MU 6 series , except this year they have 3 models .

The nu 7100 , the nu 7300 * < curved version of 7100 > and 7400 ( identical to 7100 but packed with wide color gamut )

So far the general picture quality performance of 7100 is worse than last year's 6 series . ( slightly worse brightness and contrast )

HAIER 4K...

65 inch less than 3k online.

Anyone bought?

I would suggest to avoid China Brands ( like Skyworth , Haier etc etc ) if you are looking for durability and Picture Quality performance , there are barely any reviews around but when I checked them out in the store , the HAIER TV series seem to have strange artifact when showing 4k stuff
