Hi, I'm new here. I was wondering with the new firmware update recently that enables 1080p support and VGA fixes, I wanted to go online to update my September 2006 manufactured XBOX 360. The thing is what is the fixes of VGA? I'm planning to buy a 19" LG widescreen LCD monitor for my XBOX 360. If the fixes are not important, I don't want to go online with my XBOX 360 because the shopkeeper said that the XBOX will get locked by Microsoft because it is firmware flashed. Can I upgrade the firmware by other means (burning to CD and installing it is the XBOX)? Does the firmware upgrading affects the previous modified firmware so that it cannot run homebrew software anymore or does it locks the console? I don't want to get the console locked.

Well, I checked the website and the update just add 1080p support for VGA and component cables both of which are not important because I can't afford a 1080p Plasma TV anyway.(I'm a college student.)The 1080i and 720p suffice because the lcd monitor's native resolution is 1440x7xx. Other features are redundant because I use the xbox 360 just for games. A PC available at my disposal for the other usages. Thanks for the help. Once I start working maybe in a few years time, I will buy the Ori games like FFXV for the PS3 and Halo 4. I just hope those publishers will publish cheaper console games (RM50-80) and the gov reduces the taxes. There are many ways to prevent cheap games from flowing to other countries.(Lik-Sang...and strict custom enforcement)
