Hi,
I have being looking for a headset for my Sony Ericsson phone lately, I'm looking at HPM-70 or HPM-80 and i was quoted by Sony for Rm150 and Rm180.
Now here comes the question, there are several sellers in garage sales selling HPM-70 at a price region of Rm3x to Rm50. Are those original?
Why are they not asked to prove it's original while moderators/trade enforcers are so particular on memory cards?

good that you've noticed a thread as such.
we're not ignoring it, just haven't noticed it.
you know TZ has thousands of threads and posts.
have you use the REPORT button?

Well, honestly, I get what you mean as they're the actual prices that are selling at any SE authorised dealers so sometimes we are left wondering whether such earphones selling here more than half price here are genuine ones or not. Hitting the report button might not be effective because it's hard to determine whether it's real or fake and secondly, most sellers just use pictures taken from the SE website, you don't get to see the picture of the actual thing so nobody will know it's real or not unless we have a special team to probe the sellers by pretending to be a buyer so that they're caught red handed but sometimes it is easier said than done. It's sometimes hard for us to prove that the items sold here are fakes in order for the mods to take action. Maybe someone can suggest what's the best way to tackle this problem. For this situation, if the seller says full refund if item is found to be a fake, then go for it. There are many honest sellers doing that as an assurance that you're getting a genuine thing. Simple, ask him to buy from the place he trust. No point being a good friend helping him to be a middleman and in the end he blamed you in case he got himself a fake stuff learn from this case

Well i guess there is no real solution for all these stuff.
I actually created this thread when i was unhappy with some seller attitude when the title is stating 'Original' and yet the warranty are not from Sony. Yet when i asked over and over again they don't admit it's actually imitation stuff.
Cheers

If they beat around the bush regarding the warranty thingy, just stop replying and move on to the next seller or you may report to the mods if they're selling a fake stuff. That's a good suggestion Goldfries, we can add a sticky too for all members to refer to. QUOTE(goldfries @ Jan 25 2007, 10:14 PM) i encourage experts of particular area to work together and write a basic guide for authentic goods identification.
