Watched this yesterday, really interesting. I find it very doable provided you have those machine cutting tools. Probably could easily hold 200kg (more than you ever need for all lifts except deadlifts).
What do you guys think? I wonder the cost for the wood & braces here in Malaysia. Or does the cost of the materials will come almost equivalent to a used power rack?
The thing about squat stands is their usage is very limited. Can't do pullups/dips on them (power rack can), no cable attachment add on, no safety bars (big downside)... etcs.
Imo, if you're able to build that up, i think it is quite solid. In my experience on diy wood work, I work on build my own door frame, small wood table top rack and etc, wood work require a lot of practice to get it right especially you don't want to mess with the measurement during wood cutting. A solid jig saw, mitre saw imo is a must, not tesco brand, I have one, it gets the job done, but with the risk of misalignment, end up I have to trim it with grinder.
Next, I am not sure if that thing is disassemble-able, might run into trouble to move the rack from 1 place to another, say if you moving out from your house.
Thats why i focus on machine cutting tools. Cant jigsaw this. And yea you wouldn't want to unscrew wood. It's suitable if you have like some open space on ground like a garage.
