Just find out my sifu crash his compy300 V2 today at BTHO.. doh.gif . He did mentioned to me some of pro flyer's look at compy as cheapo heli . He also tell me he maybe going to get the walkera 4G3 V3 to rock the BTHO , the smallest CP helicopter capable 3D..Hmm my sifu weird like to fly cheapo heli.

QiW,

Just wondering why you bought the 4G3 instead 4#3b . The 4#3B more suitable for beginner and it's can some brutal abuse compare to 4G3 .

Added on June 1, 2009, 12:22 pmHitz,

I didn't mess up the setting once my sifu properly do the setup. I just charge battery and fly my compy300 v2 ,if raining i hover my neon fp inside a house but not compy300 v2 due to it's very high headspeed.

You are in CP now, why still go back to FP? Sticking to 4G3 should be good enough~
*
My sifu can fly 3D , but he's still fly FP around . He told me flying FP much relax and less tension and he really enjoy it and at the same time he like encourage more beginner start with FP without bleeding the wallet. So i'm not suprise Qiw will buy walkera 4#3b.

Qiw,

Starting with CP quite headache at first time but you will get use it once you master the repair and setting. My sifu told me setup and tuning is a foundation skill every r/c pilot mush have except to those each crashes send to hobby shop for repair and setting.

I think I shall consider getting 4#3B instead of 4G3 liao.....but the 4#3B is too small lar.......Like what QiW said, want to change part also sipek hard.....too small and difficult to hold....Maybe I have to get a magnifying glass and tweezer if I bought 43B smile.gif

Can recommend me any model that hv a same size as 4g3 or slightly bigger but must be FP one?
*
Maybe you can consider NEON FP . It's a Fixed pitch 4channel helicopter . It's pretty stable once once lift off and hovering.I'm currently use neon fp to learn basic hovering.

ya .. alot of local sites oso ... but alot of them oso not quite active unless u look in the classifieds .. hahahahaa
Hey Qiw ,

Yes , alot of local sites , i still remember i start posting on local forum asking about compy300 . I find out they not really like a small heli anything below than 450class.

If you posted walkera heli on local site prepare to be bash kaw kaw . That's typical malaysian r/c pilot , if you mentioned walkera or small heli in RCgroup , they more likely to help you instead condem it.

Hi guys,

Ivan also my sifu as well . He teach and give me alot of guide how to fly a r/c helicopter without bleeding the wallet . He's very nice and humble person. I'm really impress how well he handle and fly compy300 3D so smooth than those who fly nitro size. It's very hard to see micro helicopter perform smooth and nice 3D , mostly at any flying field those 450class or nitro size can fly 3D anything below that they will said no possible.

according to ppl who has both .. its about the same
only the amounts of parts and cost of parts different ...
thats why its much cheaper to crash the 4#3 than the 4G3 ... FP vs CP maa .. CP has many more parts in the head ... and much higher HS

Added on June 10, 2009, 10:20 amsorry ... i meant the difficulty level is about the same
4#3 is more crash resilient compared to 4G3 due to lesser parts and lower HS ...
*
According to my sifu , 4G3 is ccpm and it's design a floating flybar system much harder for beginner to fly because it's sensitive while 4#3b much more less sensitive and slow response.

They all also take time to learn mar... Not 1 or 2 month but is 1 - 2 year wor...
Mostly all manage to fly 3D after 2 years wor...
But i think u 1 year can liao...  tongue.gif

Some can 3D within a year some 3-4 year also can't 3D very well. It's depend on time allocation and $$$$ factor.

those ones i think uses 3S 800-1200mah .. coz small heli cannot carry heavy weight maa .. tongue.gif

Compy work best with 1300mah lipo batteries.1000mah only for extreme 3D flying.

You having the compy and neon fp heli right?
*
Yes, i have both . Compy i directly bought from aero-fever while neon fp from my-rcflyin hobby. I recommend get compy from my sifu my-rcflyin hobby because he will do a checking before ship out the compy . Like me i bought from aero-fever a lot of missing part . A bit frustrated when assembling the compy suddenly find out the part is not there.I have to contact the aero-fever to send me again the part of course need wait few more week to arrive.

can it take off and do F8 with 2200mah lipos ah ??
*
I'm not so sure , i think you better check it with my sifu . I currently use 1300mah lipo which is much cheaper and reliable.

Only got burned smell...
I suspect is the controller chip gone case...
Is very hot once i plugged in the battery...
So don't think here can repair it...  cry.gif
Only 2-3 week only spoil...  doh.gif

Maybe i need to stop playing heli liao...
Sell off my Neon FP...  hmm.gif
Both heli also esc problems...
HBFP2 4in1 problems...
Now Neon FP ESC give way...  cry.gif

I came across one of the member own a belt-cp , his esky esc burst into a flame . According to his statement the belt-cp flew few times only.Sometime unfortunate thing does happen .

If you feel playing heli does not need repair or maintenance i think this hobby is not for you . As you said play sim better.

If you look Qiw , how much he already spend on 4G3 and from what i can see he really enjoy it even though he face a lot of problem . thumbup.gif

I don't think FP helicopter can hover only. The Fixed pitch helicopter very good for beginner to learn on it. The cost for repairing much lower compare to CP. The most important it's really stressful compare to bigger helicopter.
