QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Aug 2 2016, 02:10 PM) Yes you are right, totally forget it affect speedo too. What worries me is, remember the china video review we had in V1? The tyre width is bigger even tho, both civic 9th gen and 10th is 17 inch. By eyeballing both my car FD civic and this FC, the width is different. |

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Aug 2 2016, 02:10 PM) Actually I found that on my stock 1.8s the speedometer seems to be off vs Waze by about 5kphs. Both around 110 and 120, on cruice control. I wonder if there's a setting to change that or needs recalibration during 1k service? |

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Aug 2 2016, 02:49 PM) There are many types of combustion coatings available in the market and Nikasil is just one of them. Are you sure this Honda engine is Nikasil coated? If yes, please share the source link, i'm interested to read it. Honda's 1.5T is using "ion coated" piston rings per their technical "marketing" overview of the engine. I am not a coating expert, but it sounds like it's referring to the coating process rather than the type of coating. What is the exact make up of the coating material is not clear e.g. Nickel, TungstenCarbide, TitaniumNitrite etc..https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4011464 Any thought on this wkc5657? "Cylinder Block and Crankshaft The Civic's new 1.5-liter inline four has a lightweight die-cast aluminum block with individual reinforced main bearing caps to minimize weight. Cast-in iron cylinder liners provide long-lasting durability. Each journal on the lightweight forged-steel crankshaft is micropolished to reduce internal friction. Pistons and Connecting Rods The 1.5-liter engine's pistons help maintain stable combustion and contribute to improved efficiency with "cavity-shaped" crowns. The lightweight pistons have a carefully optimized skirt design to minimize reciprocating weight, which minimizes vibration and increases operating efficiency. The pistons are cooled by twin oil jets directed at the underside of each piston crown. Ion-plated piston rings help reduce friction for greater operating efficiency. Lightweight, high-strength steel connecting rods are heat-forged in one piece and then "crack separated" to create a lighter and stronger rod with an optimally fitted bearing cap. Cylinder Head and Valvetrain The direct-injected Civic 4-cylinder turbocharged engine has a lightweight DOHC cylinder head that is made of pressure-cast aluminum alloy. With exhaust port cast directly into the cylinder head, the need for a traditional separate exhaust manifold is eliminated. A low-friction, silent-chain drives dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. The cam drive is maintenance free throughout the life of the engine. To help further reduce weight, new thin-wall hollow camshafts are used. To benefit fuel efficiency, emissions and power, the turbo engine utilizes sodium filled exhaust valves. A hollow chamber within the valve contains sodium that is cooled by the exhaust port cooling jacket. As the camber reaches close to the valve head, the sodium helps to cool the entire valve. As the valve is internally cooled it doesn't need the enriched fuel mixture that was generally used in turbo engines to help cool the exhaust valve. The resultant leaner mixture reduces emissions, increases fuel efficiency and helps increase power." http://news.honda.com/newsandviews/article.aspx?id=8705-en This post has been edited by GeekinE90: Aug 2 2016, 03:04 PM |

No car can be exact...if the speedometer is overstating the speed, that's normal (i think all factory stock cars are like that), usually within 5-8km/h. GPS itself is not really exact either, unless you go for military grade. If the speedometer is understating actual speeds, that will be a problem and you should insist to recalibrate in this case. Maybe a little longer where more enthusiasts tuners start playing with the engine more, only then more details will flow out. Any thought on this wkc5657? Here's a good general read about internal coatings (not specific to cylinder) : http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2014/09/ev...ace-treatments/ |

Previous analog ones doesnt allow close enough comparison. Most of the time I found our phone GPS apps tends to be closely correlated to each other, 1-2kph difference only. So seeing a systematic 5kph difference seems high. If its normal then its ok. Thanks. |

QUOTE(nikkokl @ Aug 2 2016, 03:46 PM) Help u a bit, go to this linkhttp://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/ Please note that, your phone has to be running in android 5.0 lollipop and above. Choose one of the link based on your phone architecture arm or arm64. If you don't know what is your phone architecture -> select the link that has 2 variant -> download both APK. Install both of them, surely one will work. Not all phone works perfectly, especially xiao mi. |

QUOTE(thevelvet @ Aug 2 2016, 08:54 AM) Wow Dude, You must be rich enough not to have at least a bit of regret/depression about your 140K plus investment. At this price range with Tax added in, a lot of plastics are being fitted on the car. Hence, plastic tend to make rattling noise when hit with each other or car body. If you observe carefully, more luxury cars use cotton material or leather to cover up a layer most of the plastic parts to eliminate irritating rattling sound, that makes a car feel premium. But it does not means those car are problem free, otherwise what is the point of warranty. I know its never be a perfect car in the world but at least for a guy who want to upgrade himself from Proton I wish not been bother with all this small small defect anymore.. The time consuming...Hmmm With the experience and ability of Honda, I believe there should not be much major issues, but software bug issue I believe could be resolve soon with updates. |
