Trust me. The remote start is a good add on but most owners wont be using it that often in the long term. Its good if ure seated a short distance away and want to cool down the car before entering but how often are we gonna be in that situation? Most of the time we'll walk up to the car and get in straight. Surely wont be hanging around outside just to use the remote start.

The tint is not just for heat rejection and to cool a car down. Its also to keep out harmful UV rays and for security. My main purpose in getting the tint is for these 2 reasons. Heat rejection is secondary.

i actually use it to warm the car in the morning. can remote start even from my room which is on the second floor at the back of the house.

questions for sifu: will the drag from the AC in the morning from the remote start give unnesecery stress to the engine, starter etc??

Guys! i have created a great tool, to analyse your affordability, and the effect of interest that impacts the monthly repayment plan! u all can download it and see how much will u pay per month! i personally find it very very uselful.

Hi bro, I wanted to add your excel file in the front page. I find it useful (I have my own excel file for my own use too). The one thing you should edit is the interest rate. the lowest interest rate that you put in was 2.95% - no one in their right mind would accept an interest rate that high. Typically the range for a Honda is 2.5% - 2.9% depending on loan amount, loaner record, loan duration & bank. I'm recommending that the field should be editable to whatever value. But it's the same as any Hire Purchase calculator available in the web.

However, if you could add in NCB insurance calculation & accessories calculation in the mix, it would be even better. My own excel file has this, but I didn't make it universal. It's specific to my needs smile.gif

Bro, this should not be done. Ure just polluting the environment. New gen cars do not need to be warmed up by idling. You warm up by driving immediately after starting. That's the fastest and best way to reach optimum operating temperature.

Good effort!

I think anybody who can't afford the monthly re-payments for a 5 yr loan, should consider getting something cheaper. But whether you take a 5 yr loan or longer is a different matter but in terms of affordability, 5 yrs should be the benchmark.

Yes bro. 100% confirmed. Drive off immediately after switching on the engine in the morning and switch off immediately when u engage the parking brake.

I agree with cybermaster98. Immediately driving off after starting is the best way to warm up the car - you don't waste fuel this way. In any case, don't drive hard while the engine is still warming up. Keep it below 2K rpm if possible for the first 2-3KM.

I am having this problem too, just noticed it once today.
I have pre facelift 520D, the engine noise is very well insulated, but the engine vibration to the steering wheel can be quite bad for older people. I love the torque of the 520D, imagine it's torque is actually stronger then F360. However do bear in mind that F10 weights almost 2 tons, and diesel is very 'head' heavy.
Yes it can, can i ask you why you asking this? Because if your ride has Air cond issues like mine, the AC is not blowing cold air during remote start, it may work only once or twice every 10 times trial.
Congrates on your new ride capriodimitri, i would advice you to go back to your dealer and make a complaint about it ASAP.
I haven't properly described my AC issues, so let me talk about my story first. My ride is TCP, Lunar Silver. On the first day after i left the showroom, i noticed that the AC was not very cold, but my ride was not tinted and I didn't feel very warm because i picked up my car on a rainy day, first thing i do was to check my tire pressure at petrol station, true enough, it was 40+PSI, and when i get back to the car i feel that the AC seems to be turned off itself but it sort of turned back on when i started driving, it turns on and off itself during the drive, and i set the temp to LO to force the AC to work, so it is not supposed to turn off the AC. When i reached home, i started driving it in town, hoping to observe the AC behavior.

The next day, early morning, i was driving the car to send my sisters to a destination about 1 and a half hour from my house. AC feels cold, although still turns off intermittently. it is almost 100% trunk road, while early morning, i was driving pretty fast, i would said that the car is very well balanced, does not really feels like driving a FF car, the tires' dry grip is a bit on the low side, noise is acceptable. Any way after reaching destination, i went to do my tinting. After tinting, it was a hot sunny saturday afternoon, then i noticed that the AC is not blowing cold air at all when i came out from the tinting shop, during the drive home i noticed that the AC still on and off itself despite i set the temp to LO. The AC seems to blow cold air for like 20 seconds then AC off itself, i forced the AC screen to stay on and noticed that it is actually showing AC on despite it is not blowing cold air. Occasionally, when i press AC off then on again, i will be able to get back the AC but it only lasted for a while. After i find a safe place to park my ride, i did a factory reset to the HU (it took about 10 mins, it's exactly like resetting a android tablet), but no changes after the reset.

Sunday i went out again in the morning and night (when the outside temp was low), and i notice that the AC seems to work better. So i tried to adjust the "showed" outside temperature on the dashboard, sees whether that it can affects the AC (although in my mind i don't think it does, but heck, what else can i try right) but still i am having the AC issues. Immediately, i made an appointment with the dealer i got my car on Tuesday (that's yesterday).

Appointment was in morning, so i drove again in the morning, because the outside temperature is low, the AC issues is not problem. Reaching the dealer, they had a check on it, the AC actually works fine when the mechanic was checking it, i was like why la it behaves so well, naughty car. But i insisted they plug in to the computer to check, not too sure that's a issue but through OBD2 the computer doesn't seems to be able to get the temperature setting i set to the AC. At the end of the first session, the AC runs smooth like it should (actually i also noticed that during P or N or D on hold, the AC seems to work fine if you able to get the compressor working at the start of the mode that i mentioned), so i though maybe i should give it a try for another few days. However, before i even drive out of the dealer, the AC stop working, i immediately went back to the mechanic that was working on my car, and they noticed that the AC is not working at all. After about 1 hour plus of checking, the service manager actually told me that the system check shows no issues at all but they noticed the issues and contacted Honda Malaysia. Honda Malaysia's response to them is that, they have received a few complaints on this very same issue, instructed them not to further dissemble or touch anything, they will be sending specialist to work on this issue. So no solution found, i drove the car back. I love the pull of the engine so i punished the pedal a bit, and i used S mode (about 45 mins drive back to my home from the dealer). I noticed that the AC will auto restart back when the Rev is over 3k RPM and stayed there for at least half a second, err, pls give a try with safety as your priority. After i noticed this, i used S Manual mode all the way, and i noticed that the AC will indeed be back on if Rev over 3k RPM, and once the AC is on back, keep RPM above 2k for the AC to maintain. With this new 'discovery' in mind, i drove back to my work place yesterday night on NS highway at a bit of the high speed (Oh yeah, i think our TCP speed is electronic limited at 208km/h, saw someone mentioned about this in the first tread, personally i feels that the car is planted and can go even higher speed, BUT that's a big BUT, i really don't think that the tires can handle the speed that well, and personally i don't feel that confident at that speed in that car, but heck i was comparing it to conti so no comment here, brake was pretty good though). One more thing, the CVT noise is quite obvious when you rev over 2k, but to me is bearable.

So conclusion, i love the car's engine pull, i kind of like the roar of the engine, cabin noise is not that bad either. Now, the only issue is the AC!!!!!!!!! I want to get it done ASAP. Can i suggest that any owner with AC issue PM me, i would form a closed group so that we can discuss further on the updates on the issues. Of course would update to this tread too, but sometime this tread gets too carried away biggrin.gif

until now, only see TCP owner suffer with this issue. Any owner from TC or 1.8 also facing this issue?

Yeah. Could be the bugs in the Software App that controls the AC (on/off) and Fan Speed on the HU. So far only TCP owners reported this issue.

Thank you for taking your time to update us about the AC issue, it is truly a bummer that the TCP suffer from such a fundamental issue. I have ordered a Lunar Silver TCP myself and I would be furious if my brand new car was not able to produce cold air. Do update us when you have any follow up. Finger crossed.
