Anybody has experience with Acer? Build quality, customer service etc?

Worse quality.
Old manufacturer, avoid it.
Not many people using, suggested to use ASUS.
My classmates used ASUS too.

My sister just got new ASUS Laptop replacement from DELL VOSTRO due to Faulty Power Button.

acer main problem is poor quality hdd... so u better put ssd n external drive the hdd

My recommendation on Acer in their product & after sales service.
Bought 2 Acer so far, Acer AMD procs last me 5 years without issue with heavy usage. Acer Nitro at the moment with light usage due to use more on desktop.
No issue so far.

Can't remember. But full HD screen is all I can remember. A year+ back full HD screen was still quite new at RM3000.

My 6 years old acer still going strong. No damage whatsoever.. Still running with average 1/2 hourshutdown-ed per WEEK for the past 6 years. Mostly running 24/7.

I'm using adobe softwares almost everyday so imagine the stress for the past 6 years.

I'm using quite high end model for acer (aspire what model forgot. Only Timeline series were more expensive than my lappy at that time.. purchase it almost Rm3k.)

IMO, please buy high end + mass production for acer. Not predator series, buy for me Nitro is quite qood now. Since spare parts are easy to find and they don't dare to mess with their top selling product.

For customer service, I do recommend Acer.. Their southern service center is 5 minutes drive from my house.

I do talk with few laptop salesman in my area. They do prefer Acer if want to go for warranty and support since its nearby and if there's no stuffs in queue, you can get your repairs in less than a day.. Usually few days or one or 2 weeks max.

Better for me la ofcourse.. No need to wait onsite repair like dell.

Don't told me about Asus.. Its like disposable stuffs like razorblades and diapers.

Not many laptops in my price range have above average colour accuracy.

How's the colour accuracy like?

i have acer aspire that im using it since 2011 and it never gave me any problem even im heavily gaming on it everyday (while im studying in college) and never send it to their service so i cant comment on their after sales service quality.

Acer and Asus are not that far apart in term of quality. Besides Acer got decent support service center in USJ. I sent my W4 in for screen replacement. Was told a week, called me up the next day to pick up. Asus? Dream on.

They all drop like flies. Nowadays very hard to find hdd with good speed and being durable. The one which I had in my stolen Toshiba laptop was pretty good with shock protection but it was so so when it comes to speed. The only HDD I never had any failure on was WD Black. Really need to pay double to get peace of mind. Green and Blue are like rejects quality nowadays.

I used to prefer SSD until I had a failure last year. Luckily I did a backup a week before so was not too badly affected. Then only I found out that SSD does that when you had too many power outage. I had my battery unplug since Im using them in office primarily. Never ever figure that power outage could kill SSD.

My old PC with a Seagate HDD just died, that's why I'm looking to buy a laptop. It lasted 4 years and a trip down to kl from Penang though hahahah.

in fact, it is really depend on what is your usage and purpose. there is no point to buy a laptop that can't fulfill your requirements.

Both fulfil my needs. It's just a matter of which.

Build quality wise I would say it's good for me. It's up to personal preference & of course cannot expect as much as to have metal housing for a RM1700 notebook.

i got use acer before but the quality not so good because in a year send in for warranty 2 time.

for me I had 2 models - one is low end laptop bought in 2009 (abt rm1500) and another ultrabook (abt rm4000 at launch)

both still working until today without issues.

My past experience + college mates with Acer few years back was horrible. Main issue being heat problems. I avoid Acer at all costs since then.

Asus was fine with me. A laptop of almost 7 years only died recently, no problem to it. I bought another Asus afterwards.

Asus build quality and reliability is not bad but WARRANTY ITS tHE WORSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
