if the updated forester is made in thailand, it might not be exactly be like what offered in Japan anyway. But at the very least i expect the eyesight maybe upgrade from version 3 to 4... maybe.  laugh.gif

coz forester offer really makes no difference i feel u order now or when it fist came out 2-3 years ago. still same offer. so not really have any urgency to chase tongue.gif only diff maybe is the sales tax will kick back in at june.

If want the updated eyesight, i believe need more time to calibrate & upgrades for local CKD/Thailand model if base on what Motor Image is offering now.
Would be better to still approach direct AP importer to import in those updated models in Japan if die die really want Forester.
The only models that i knew will come with new eyesight update from Motor Image now mostly are CBU units like Outback, new 2022 WRX & BRZ (Auto variant only)

Malaysia mostly wont be the 1 getting latest Forester model in near time, mostly by year end or early next year as they just launch Xv facelift not long ago and new BRZ & WRX is coming by this year.

What you are waiting for? The next facelift Forester mostly only bring in new exterior updates, but for local models mostly the 2.0L engine will soldier on. If you are waiting for the new 1.8 Turbo engine better get it from AP direct importer.

This i think depends alot on the road tax structure of the country. In Malaysia many ppl not willing to spend for anything above 2 liter unless it's for some "premium" branded cars.

Yes. I have a CX5, 2.5 GLS.

For company registered SUV, MPV, 4x4 and pickup truck there is no 2X regular road tax, unlike sedans and hatchbacks. smile.gif

Hi guys, am looking to purchase an used unit of Forester i-S which is still under the 5 years warranty and 3 year free service.

If the car is sold to me, will both of the free service and warranty transferred to the new owner? Also if I were to change the number plate as well, does it affect anything?

You need to get the warranty & service booklet from the previous owner to continue the free service and warranty.
Usually if car chassis is the same they can trace it even change no. plate.

Thanks for the info, really assuring. If not mistaken, the service booklet and the service coupon is still with the existing owner.

Is there a reliable workshop around Penang to service Subaru XV after warranty expired?

Yup. If can go further

Thong Motor - Kulim

Actually there are more workshop also can do but depends on luck as some are quite low profile..

Another 1 in Island is Carleur, but need to be careful on the pricing/cost as sometime it may even more expensive compare to SC.
