QUOTE(frankzane @ Apr 20 2017, 02:45 PM) Is the CVT transmission chain sound common in XV and For? I still have one unexplained sound like metal when accelerating... this is an except from Edmunds Expert Review:The off-road-ready 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek is worth a look if you're seeking versatility in a small package, but rivals offer more in the way of refinement and on-road performance. Pros Standard all-wheel drive Relatively strong off-road capabilities Spacious seating Good fuel economy Generous standard features. Cons Lackluster acceleration CVT produces tiresome engine noise Substandard sound systems Hybrid model doesn't justify added cost. I think due to poorer insulation on XV compare to Forester. Or maybe my ear is not sensitive due to exposure to heavy metal The Subaru CVT runs an all metal chain instead of the typical composite belt. |

If you hear strange sound even if it is subtle but it was not there in the beginning, I suggest you go and have it check at SC. It could be differential gear problem. I don't hear anything strange. Maybe my hearing is less sensitive only audible at low speed like say 20km/h... beyond that hardly noticeable |

Is the proper way to start the car by press twice the start button first, then only press the brake and push the start button once? Coz only starting that way my pioneer hu can immediately turn on.

Coz only starting that way my pioneer hu can immediately turn on. Check manual. Pressing the button without pressing brake pedal means switch on power to car accessories without starting car. Starting car means al the battery power go to starters and delay a bit for the rest. That is why air-con is delayed to switch on like most cars especially luxury cars.Cheap economy cars advised you to switch everything off first before starting because there is no automatic management on this |

Hi guys,
I managed to identify the chasis vibration issue. It only happen when the meter gauge reaching 2k rpm when idle and stay there for a while. The car seems to force it to goes down below 2k rpm and that is when the vibration started to happens. So as long as it stay below 2k rpm no vibration. Its on n off thing and more obvious when stuck in the jam for an hr or so. Anyone experiencing this? |

Dear Subarist, would like to find out which petrol brand can fetch better mileage 🤔
I'm driving a Forester 2.0iP, feeding with BHP Ron95 most of the time, with 80% city driving and 20% highway driving, with moderate driving mode, push the pedal occasionally to overtake some road hoggers and playing with paddle shifters a bit while cruising through some bends and turning. Petrol used: BHP Ron95 Best mileage per tank: 650km (9.23l/100km) Worst mileage per tank: 430km (13.95l/100km) Mind to share your stats? 🙃 |

QUOTE(BUMBLE@@B @ Apr 26 2017, 03:31 AM) Dear Subarist, would like to find out which petrol brand can fetch better mileage 🤔 Around 9-10L/100km is consider norm for forester 2.0i-P since driving 80% in city. My best record is around 8L/100km also 80% in city, but choose the right timing to skip traffic jam. I think is all under your feet control.. This post has been edited by littlefire: Apr 26 2017, 09:43 AM |
