Since the tyre that you changed is no longer as per the original size. Do you feel any sluggishness or slower in braking ?
Do that help to make the tyre noise lesser ah in highway ?

cause I am about to change the tyre but in dilemma also. Pls share your exp ya. Thank you
*
No worries, i have changed mine to continental 225/40/r18. Quieter and more comfy ride than before the toyo tyres eventhough i had lower the thickness, it doesn't effect to speed accuracy and the braking. Meantime i had changed an aftermarket battery, the battery just costed me rm330 gst+installation and suprisingly the i-stop works perfectly! Guys, next time do not need to change to Q85, it may burn a big hole to your wallet!

What model does the shop offered to you? Pilot Sport 3 or 4?  I just changed to ps 4 for 650rm each. 225/45 R18
*
May i know where you get your tyres changed? Cause michelin for 18inch is very expensive, normally it cost 800-1000 each for PS4 and slightly cheaper for PS3.

You mean you changed to an ordinary battery not specifically designed for i-stop but the i-stop still works? What make and AH is that?
*
Yeap, due to low battery condition my car wouldn't start and i forced to had an ordinary battery replacement for temporary usage before i make the claim from SC. I had been told by the technician the I-stop may not fuctional if using the non i-stop designed battery. The battery's AH is 550.

Actually any ordinary batteries can be used in this m3, if you don't care the i-stop.

May I know what is the model of the continental tyre you change to and how much it cost ?

Also pls share what is the battery that you replaced ?The SC told me normal battery can be use but it will kill off your ordinary battery much more faster than normal usage
*
i changed mine to continental Max Contact MC5 225/40/R18 and it costs RM550 pcs. the battery is AtlasBX 75D23L.
hopefully the battery can serve me for 12-18 months is good enough since the price is half of Q85 and this Q85 only served me 13-15months. bruce.gif

Would like to know more on this:
1) What's the harm of using normal battery?
2) If I change the battery to normal type, how does this affect warranty of other parts?
*
1. it won't harm to your car, SC recommended the Q85 is because it designed to support the i-Stop. perhaps it may kill off the battery faster? the answer is yes or no, let me post again and finger cross. icon_rolleyes.gif
2. i called to SC and check this may not void your car's warranty.
hope i have answered your questions.

dont waste money for fully synth oil from mazda, they are using 5w40 which you can definitely get the heavy feel and responsiveness, for me i will go for other brand like Torco SR-1

if you look smooth and better engine response then get 5w-30 or 5w-20, our car is designed for that, actually all new road cars are designed to use 5w-30

if you cant decide which sc to go, go for bermaz sc

you can join our m3 skyactiv group to find out more on this kind of info
*
mind to share your experience on Tarco SR-1, cause it is a racing engine oil just thinking to try it out but the car still under warranty and if any issue to the car may void the warranty.

i would suggest others to stay with Q85 unless someone has tested other range of battery is proven to work without premature death on the battery or premature wear and tear on the alternator
*
yes, i am agree that unless it something happened like me, the battery is totally dead couldn't start the car at all then this is your alternative way. hope it helps others when this situation happened. sad.gif

my vios is using this oil for 6 years and so far no issue with engine

this time is my first time using SR-1 on my m3 and i noticed a big difference, engine response is better and less drop in speed if i let go of the accelerator compare to the shell semi synth even though they are both same 5w-30 viscosity

after you go sc to change the oil then go outside workshop drain the engine oil and pour in your desire engine oil, some member has done that
*
drool.gif any difference in term of power? where you bought the SR-1? i saw this engine oil was selling RM90 per liter last 2 years.

not sure if 3 yrs free maintenance covers battery or not.
*
the battery not an issue, because i am not using the Q85 but the i-stop still working like a charm. i bought it for temporary use due to the car's battery died in the morning, current battery just cost me rm330. biggrin.gif

Please share what are these reasons why we can't have Japanese & European specs? I would genuinely like to know.. Not teasing or being sarcastic here.

*Manufacturing plant? Got.
*Materials for better build quality? Got
*Qualified technicians, engineers, etc? Got
*Brains to operate the full I-activsense suite? Got
*Repair stations? Got
*Car price? Got. Perhaps even higher due to taxes, bla bla.
*Poorer currency? Can't use that as an excuse as the same trend happened when the RM was stronger.. Now, it's weaker, prices are even higher and  we still don't have full specs.

Take dynamic cruise control as an example. Why can't we have such? Is it like a weather or road condition thing that makes Malaysia unfavorable.. I would like to know as the reason I have at the moment is that not adding in the full suite saves cost of manufacturing the car or political.

Full disclaimer: This isn't just applicable to Mazda's cars, I'm non-malaysian and an have an appreciation for the zoom zoom drive.  smile.gif
*
simple and easy answer.....because the car taxation in malaysia is high, in order to maintain at certain price range those features must be taken out. cry.gif

No la bro, sorry if I makes you misund I'm scolding you.. hahaha..

I'm just saying that in the Malaysian market, Mazda 3 is equipped with best safety features already, with the same price tag comparing to other rivals.. ofcoz if all the i-ActivSense are available in our car, that would be perfect then.

Cheers.
*
i strongly agree with you but at least not too bad....look at "T" brand doh.gif

just test driven the new m3 gvc, for those who get the non-gvc version there is nothing to feel regret, the GVC give very subtle changes, the driving dynamics remain the same for GVC and non-GVC, but the colored HUD is nicer, and steering is more comfortable to hold though
*
thanks bro! exactly, the GVC being tested oversea and i believe the GVC engaged once you have a sharp turn at certain speed. anyway it just some minor changes zoom zoom all the way!

As far as i know.. GVC is a software, not a tech.. As long as the software has been written well, it will be fine..
*
a good question, i just found an article
i believe it is sort like a "software tweak" that used to enhance the handling by reducing the wheel torque when turns. this is interesting, time to read brows.gif

I just came back from test driving Mazda 3 old and new FL and I got to say. Mazda drives the best....compared to new civic, though civic beats Mazda 3 in cabin space, and tech... But it feels like sampan when taking corners. Something which Mazda 3 is so good in. 99k for 2016 sure is tempting.

Though I did test drive ioniq too... Smaller car but the tech was wow. Also got good offer o  test drive car for sale at 95k...decisions decisions.
*
rclxms.gif glad to heard that! i got a civic and M3 in da house. i would say the driving pressure in M3 are much fun than civic especially hitting the corner and gear shifting when rev!

QUOTE(newhouseowner @ May 4 2017, 05:26 PM)
Are you really sure civic win Mazda 3 in tech?

Space for sure.
*
Agree! i would said M3 more hi-tech than civic especially the safety features! the smart city brake support has helped me avoid 2 times of accident. blush.gif

*
Yeah!, definately. Mind to shared the used car price of cbu and ckd? Because the new cbu was about 20k expensive than ckd.

Now mazda is doing promotion and FL spec as low as 99k, please take note the FL is lower spec that not equiped as much accessories as HS like speedo meter, head up display, blind sport indictor, lane departure assist, leather seat bla bla etc

my budget only 8xk T T
hmm the i-stop got what features
*
8xk is ur maximum budget that you could stretch up?
mazda now has extended the warranty to 5 years (correct me if i am wrong) without paying single sen to the SC, drive in and out that is all. cool2.gif
what you need to take in to account are insurance+road tax and also wear and tear.
ensure you add in all for monthly payment icon_rolleyes.gif

you mean i-active sense? i-stop just a feature that temporary stop the engine when the car was idling, this is for fuel saver. now even bezza equipped with such feature brows.gif

Nah, "free" service package is only up till 3 years or 60km... Battery is for 1 year or 20km. Rest of the warranty is up to 5 years or 100km.
*
that is a great deal too, last time the car only come with 3 years or 60K, now extended up to 5 years or 100k. at least peach of mind within the period of time. wub.gif
