Why can't you believe the SC? Their info comes from the manufacturer. They are not going to give you wrong info and get hit with warranty claims and lawsuits from gearbox failures. Even after warranty expired they can still be claimed for giving wrong info resulting in gearbox failure.
Before I go for further explanation, you need to be open minded and no hard feelings, otherwise, it is useless for this discussion.
Let me started with my own experienced, I own a Chevrolet aveo year 2004, in the owner manual, manufacturer said inspect the ATF oil by authorised service center. This car was 40000 km or 2 years warranty whichever is earlier at that time. Throughout 40000 km service by their SC, they don't even check the ATF oil colour, smell or whatever. In the last 40000 km, I questioned the SC why no changed ATF, they told me no need but I trusted and let it be. So after that, I drove for extra 1000 km to 2000 km, gear started to lockup meaning shifting from 1st gear to second gear, rpm must pull into 3000rpm-3500 rpm for shifting. This phenomenon occurred occasionally until now the car is 304000 km mileage. Lucky gearbox no damaged but need to bear with the awkward shifting. Ask yourself can SC Malaysia be trusted?
In 2008, I bought Mazda 3. In owner manual, manufacturer also said inspect ATF oil by authorised SC which is bermaz. This car was 100,000 km or 3 years warranty at that time. Bermaz service sheet only changed the oil at 100,000 km. So I questioned SC, they said service at 100,000 km. So at 50,000 km, I inspected the oil myself, guess what, the colour turn into slight pink brownish with some burned smell. I quickly drove into SC and told them to change and I paid the money myself. It only cost me RM 200++ at that time. Again, ask yourself, can SC Malaysia be trusted?
I had surveyed Mazda 6 for quite many years and I own 2017, throughout my researched, ATF oil for skyactiv transmission need to be changed. If you take a look at engine bay, you can't see the ATF oil dipstick but doesn't mean it is service fill. The dipstick can be access by removing some of the part in surrounded area. As I said before, you YouTube it then you can get your answer there. Ask yourself, if really service fill, why foreign owner found it milky colour after 50,000 km of driving and not nice colour of green ( I assumed it is green colour because I forgot the actual colour).
As far as I know, many SC regardless of brand try to skip this ATF oil changed during warranty even hap seng for Mercedes. I don't know what is their motive, if you think SC can be trusted then good luck, I better trusted myself, I only trust them 50%.
You have to keep in mind below:
1.Malaysia law doesn't protected us as a owner like USA did.
2. As far as I know, there is no ATF oil can last for service fill in today oil technology. None of it.
3. If Mazda really breakthrough service fill oil, why they can't give owner lifetime warranty clearly stated in owner manual? But in other hand, bermaz just said no need change by word of mouth only? Why foreign owner found it otherwise? Make any sense?
4. I just try to let other owner be smarter as possible. If you think I'm bullshitting, then just ignore my post and go your own way.
Voncrane also raised some valid point.
