I was quoted RM 200+ from beater panel workshops, just to spray the bumper alone (and another one quoted me RM 380 for spraying 2K paint and fixing of bumper, which I not willing to pay so high for just spraying the bumper)

So I want to know where can I get automotive paint and spray it for myself,

and what else do I need to prepare for spraying bumper? I think I also need rough sand paper to remove the old paint first.

Need suggestions and feedback, thanks so much! smile.gif blush.gif

It is not worth it for sure, you need to buy the spraying tools. If I remember correctly, when I need to spray my bumper, this workshop will go to another shop to get the color that I want, it cost about RM50 per tin, to spray a whole bumper you need around half of the tin inside. You would also need to buy the oil, before you spray the 1st and 2nd layer, you need to apply the oil, or else the paint will removed easily just like some ordinary sticker. Oh man, I suggest you bring to the workshop and let them do. Some shops they charge only RM100 - 150. You would need to do more survey on this. hands.gif

I just spoken to one of my friend.
When he wanted to respray his car , he would buy the automotive paint from his friend which works with Nippon Paint, and then sents it to the workshop to spray. He said he did save some on the overall costs, but not vastly.

Can do I like this --> Buy the paint from a local hardware shop..and then pass it over to the workshop? I know the panel beater shop may profit some from using their own paint, thought I can save from this one. (I'm the type of person which likes to buy own parts and if possible..DIY fix em' )

Yeah I agree with your above statement too; I didn't realise that it needs oil too..and also the oven curing room.

I feel paying RM 200 over is highly priced. I got this pricing around Sunway/Subang area. I really need to go to PJ or Old Klang Rd where it's cheaper.

Yeah, I'll let people do that..if it's reasonably priced. I believe there is somewhere which is "cheap & good" from honest people.
