So yeah, please send requests to Sigma consumer relations division lol (a 1.4/24 to follow up the 16 would be pretty dope). Or Samyang's, considering that with the recent 1.4/35 AF lens they just released they're really churning out the E-mount AF lenses now.
*
Or, a f2.8 zoom lens with a range of 16 to whatever biggrin.gif

2) Sony Zeiss 24mm f1.8 = this would be the most versatile focal length in Sony APSC world for street photography but it is too expensive IMO
*
Yeah, and doesn't even have oss.

Just an update:

OFFICIAL PRICE for Sigma 16mm f1.4 = 449 USD

Expected availability Nov 22, 2017.

Convert to current rate it will be around RM2,000..

I think the price is a bit steep.

*
The SEL35F18 has a USD450 price too but you can get it around rm1.3k over here.

Heh. Just in time for my next trip over to Sigmaland. Hopefully Yodo or Bic will have them in stock for me to play with once I'm there... though I have no real need for something so wide and so fast.
*
Got a question bout this 16mm f1.4.

In sigma's site, it's stated:
The new SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary is the world’s first interchangeable lens for mirrorless Sony E-mount cameras in the APS-C format to offer a 24mm focal length (35mm equivalent)

So does it have 16mm focal length (24mm equivelant) or like what the side says, 24mm (35mm equivelant)?

Disclaimer, I have no experience in shooting aurora. But using kit lens is going to be though. If you do plan to stick with kit, best bet would be to get a tripod and do long exposure......like 15s to 30s at min ISO1600. I have seen shots done at f4 but on tripod.
*
Is it tough because of the aperture size?

now time to upgrade lens
which one is suitable for bokeh, potrait, low light ?? and landscape, flower

Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN Lens for Sony E Mount  RM 1,450.00

or

Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS

or any suggestion ?
*
Maybe can consider Sony's 35mm f1.8? It's pretty cheap and it's an sharp as sigma 30mm (or very close), and also has OSS.

12 new lenses. Other than that, nothing much from Sony. A bit of a letdown.

Why is it a letdown? What are you hoping they will launch? If so, will you be buying it immediately upon available?

An update on the a6000/a5000 series. Yes.

It's to replace a5000-a6300. I think it's good.

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Feb 3 2019, 12:08 AM)
Hope to get some advice from the sifus here smile.gif

I'm shooting with the A6000, Sigma 16/1.4, and 30/1.4 now so naturally, I want to get the Sigma 56/1.4 next for portraits.

But I'm starting to take more videos and prime lenses feel too inconvenient, and it doesn't help that the A6000 has no IBIS. So I'm thinking about maybe getting the 18-105/4 OSS instead. Do you think this lens at 105mm at f4 can produce a portrait bokeh comparable to 56mm at f1.4? No need to worry about low light.

As for mic, any thoughts on the Sony ECMXYST1M?
*
You can also give Sony's 50mm f1.8 a go. It has OSS biggrin.gif

True but most shots will be in the 16-30mm range hehe. Having both the E50/1.8 and 18-105 would be great but $$$
*
I believe the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 can also fit on your a6000 biggrin.gif

is the 16-35mm FE good enough for travelling purpose - landscape, portrait, group, street photography?

read on the 24-70z which getting the tamron 28-75 is much better but i'm afraid if its wide enough for the above?

seems like 16-35mm and 50f1.8 is a good start without breaking the bank.

Read a lot of bad reviews on the 50f1.8 though.
