Hi sifus,

I'm currently using Nex-3N with the kit lens, which I use mostly on travel trips and on occasional events.
I'm considering 2 options now:

1. Stick to my current model and add different lenses, eg portrait lens, prime lens.
2. Upgrade to A6000 (seems like there's quite a lot of promo nowadays), but stick with kit lens. Actually quite attracted to some of the better features of the A6000, like more focus points, faster focus, Wifi, remote control via phone.

Hope to get some feedback. Thanks biggrin.gif

do u need more mega pixels? nex-3 16mp a6000 24mp, juz a tiny upgrade. if yes > A6000
do you selfie? if yes > Nex-3N coz A6000 cannot flip screen to 180'
do you need viewfinder? or u can get a 2nd hand used viewfinder? if yes > A6000
do you need wifi? if yes > A6000 (for me i will post process before i upload, so wifi is not a must)
do you need remote control? timmer not good for u? if yes > A6000

i saw ppl selling A6000 body around 1.7-1.8k
the money that you save up can get u a sony 50mm f1.8, for cheaper price can get a sigma 30mm f2.8, sigma 60mm f2.8 or latest model sigma 30mm f1.4.

if i am u, i will invest on the lens, because the new camera model come out every year. unless u plan to upgrade to FF in the future, then no point to get apsc lens.

juz my personal opinion biggrin.gif

Hmm.. what is "long run" all i have are relatively cheap emount lenses. probably the box more expensive than any of the lenses. lol.
A7RII weather sealed yo.
how cheap is cheap? O:
*
yup i have cheap emount lens too, but i still wanna make sure my gear is fungus free.
drybox doesn't necessary need to go for exp one. I'm just using a cheap one like this
box+ Rechargeable Dehumidifier. The only bad thing about this is once awhile u need to recharge the Dehumidifier.

@ieR
hmm..maybe your friend didn't recharge the Dehumidifier frequently? I used it for more than a year everything is fine.
I recharge it around once a month. the sillica gel will turn from blue>pink
sometimes during raining season will need to recharge less than a month.

dunno him, but think of it, what if one lens already got infected, and the dehumid even by recharge, couldnt stop it, hence begin the spread?  cry.gif
*
yup.. but im constantly check the hygrometer, so i think it is fine for me. and i put extra 2 box of sillica gel in it as a backup just in case tongue.gif

If you can afford the a6500 (Which I think should be closed to RM6k), of course you can go ahead. But I don't think it's worth 3 times the price of a6000, especially if you're not making money out of this investment. The way I see it is that, unless you've already heavily invested in non-stabilized lenses or do a lot of video production, it make no sense getting this over a6000 purely for still photography. For the price of a6500, you can get a6000 + good lens. A6k with good lens will definitely be better than a6500 + kit lens. Just my 2 cents.  sweat.gif

juz share my milky way, taken with sigma 19mm last year, process with lightroom

*off topic* pretty hard to get a good picture over there. too many main land ppl flashing car head lamp towards the church.
the best part is they donno how to use their camera at all.
the camera flash keep flashing all the time. sweat.gif , some of them even handheld their cam for 20 sec sweat.gif
when they saw my picture keep asking me how to take the "star" so clear. sweat.gif
while everyone quietly taking pictures, one main land family juz arrived play hide and seek with their kids ohmy.gif
