Hmmm. We'll, is OSS worthwhile for the price ?

And another note, how do you keep finding stuff to shoot ?
I want to continue learning. Haha

Yes OSS is definitely needed unless you upgrade to A6500 then it won't be a concern.

Imagine same shot, same focal length say 50mm. With OSS/IBIS you could go as low as 1/10~1/15 but without you will have to shoot at 1/50 or even faster to get a sharp shot.

But still, if fast moving subject then not much difference if you want to freeze action. You'll have to go 1/1600~1/4000 then with or without doesn't really matter anymore.

Yes OSS is always useful but prices of lens with OSS is way way more expensive.

bring your camera out often.
opportunity to shoot is everywhere just have to be there at the right moment.

i'd say the 50mm 1.8 is way to go then. fast, and pocket friendly.

until you find your favourite subject, i'd say shoot everything and anything. start a 52 week photography challenge. join photo meet ups.

join the walkabouts.

shoot your friends. your family. your dog.

play with lighting. check out reddit for photo inspiration. travel and shoot.

shoot your toys, shoot your house. apa apa just tembak.

you forgot gf/wife personal shoot brows.gif

Still OSS/IBIS cant beat a good tripod.
with a tripod 1sec or more is possible and can shoot at iso100 all the time. thumbup.gif
downside is another gadget to carry around, and honestly i hate carrying it around. rclxub.gif

Can't find a body only in Lowyat so I had to go for the kit (and sell the kit lens).

Still haven't used it as I'm still waiting for the 85mm 1.8

What's the best for the buck wide angle lens under 28mm?

Have you considered the Sony 10-18mm? It's a great lens for the money

Thanks @maxxsp, @destfull. sony 10-18mm looks good except the price over 2k. Im looking for budget one. perhaps no more than 1.3k-1.5k. I read at other forum how they combine the canon 10-18mm + adapter but it seems like the AF is not so good (but AF is not that important for landscape photography right...)

welcome to FF, your going to find it tough to find lenses below 1.5k.
thats one of the main reason why i havent made the jump...........yet.

there is samyang 24mm f2.8 about 1.3k.
any wider and the price is going to increase above 1.5k.

Next up is the Samyang 12mm F2
