Isnt it too early for you guys to decide who is championship contender and who is not? Its just the 4th race and you guys have come up with your own speculations...

A race incident according to Norbert Haug

QUOTE
McLaren-Mercedes' Norbert Haug refused to criticise Felipe Massa after the Brazilian and Fernando Alonso touched lightly at the first corner of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix.

The incident, which damaged the bargeboard on Alonso's silver car, ensured that the Spaniard could not charge for victory, but Mercedes' competition director said Ferrari driver Massa was not at fault.

"Of course the incident did not help us, but it was a clean and courageous manoeuvre," the German told the broadcaster Premiere. "That can be the price you pay when you start the record from second place.
"

Meanwhile, Ferrari's Sporting Director Stefano Domenicali played down the spectacular fuel fire that erupted on race winner Felipe Massa's car after a pit stop.

"It was not as bad as it looked," he said while Massa admitted that he did not even notice the fire before it went out.

Even the McLaren themselves never blame the fault on Massa..

Erm...
Actually i think Alonso pushes too hard into the 1st corner. Massa got the driving line and Alonso is supposed to subdue to it but then he forcefully push his car in to the left of Massa. Maybe that explains why Alonso said he was in front of Massa.

And Massa said during the PC was just a direct answer to all the questions:-

QUOTE
Usually I was inside, so I had the car inside, so I don't understand his point. It was just a normal race accident and as long as I am inside, close to the car going to the first corner, I will keep there. I will not move. So, if somebody was aggressive, it was Fernando, it was not me

1st of all nobody is blaming anybody. 2nd of all Alonso was clearly in front by half a car's length but Massa had the inside line. Alonso could have given more space and Massa had enough space actually to avoid contact but it would have jeopardised his race. They made contact and it's just a racing incident. Nothing more to it. Let's look forward to Monaco instead.

yeap...tat's wat i think too....dun ever give a damn about others.....but most importantly is to avoid wrecking ur own car...

i really regret that i forgotten to watch d post-conference....n by reading at those F1 website....sometimes it might be misleading...i'm juz not sure...it seems like alonso is blaming massa for his own 'sand-eating'... wink.gif

Williams to test 14-year-old Malaysian

QUOTE(http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2007/05/15/williams_to_test_14_year_old_malaysian)
Williams will give 14-year-old rising Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar a test in its F1 simulator today after he took two wins and a second place in the first four rounds of the Formula BMW Asia series. Jaafar arrives at the the Williams Toyota factory in Grove this morning.

"The team will run the Sepang race configuration for me as I know the track so well," Jaafar said. "This simulator is so close to reality. It is huge and looks a lot like a flight simulator with a screen that goes all around. I could not believe how lucky I am to be
supported by Sir Frank and it is my dream to race for Williams."

During the visit Jazeman will be accompanied by his Meritus race engineer and director Firhat Mokhzani and Dato' Kamaruddin the Deputy CEO of Malaysian based AirAsia who are partners of the Williams Toyota team.

Given Jafaar's age the only way they could test him safely would be at the wheel of their simulator.

no one can be blamed for that incident .... u can say that massa should have give that place to alonso since alonso is infront already, but u can also say that alonso did not give massa enough space and closed the door too early and massa have the right to stay at where he's at.

what massa did seems to look like an effect of schumi's influence laugh.gif

Added on May 15, 2007, 9:58 pmhamilton is looking good for monaco

why ?
alonso seems to be under alot of pressure.
kimi same as well, still counld not master his F2007, pity him so much.
massa ? he's kinda noob at monaco. remember last year ?
hamilton ? won twice previously at monaco, seems to feel no pressure at all, and very confident.

just my 2 cents smile.gif

Massa would become a serious contender to the championship rather tan kimi who would be unable 2 finish atleast half of the races for burning engine and other failure due to lack of knowledge of the car. massa has the raw speed of senna... if he skill improve abit more, he would rally be a top gun

we got tired of complaining .... 2 words ... no hope.
or u can put it 3 .... msia no hope.

Added on May 16, 2007, 8:53 ammassa has raw speed of senna !??!?! HAhAhahahaHaHhAh i would say massa has the raw speed from ferrari. Altho he come from the same country as senna ... but that doesnt make him senna-ish-godlike, not even close.

about kimi, he drives the car harder ... it's just driving style. no matter how much knowledge u have about the car, when shit like that happen, it happens. this year massa had it once as well. it's up the mechanics & engineers, not the driver.
